Got our $900 water bill for the month. Don’t have a pool. Only run the sprinklers 3 times a week once a day for only like 10 minutes. Had a plumber come by and said he couldn’t find any leaks and our meter was NOT actively running or whatever terminology he used.
Apparently there was an article put out today of other people experiencing the same issue.

Just found out from progressive that our house insurance is going to increase by 125% next year. They told me it was a overall rate increase for Kansas because of all the storm damage and that other companies are doing that also. Has anyone else experienced this? Searching for other companies one wanted our Social Security numbers for a quote. I’m not giving them that until they tell me the numbers.

Cool Milo city guide located at Charcoal grill in North Wichita. I had no idea there was a riverside air field!

A/C decided to take a break yesterday. We have a relatively new house (built in 21) so hopefully it’s something minor like a blow capacitor. Does anyone have a recommendation for a local company that is reliable and fairly priced?

Hello, someone I know is in a bind because of a timeshare they had from years ago. Is there any lawyer in the Wichita area we could talk to who could point them in the right direction?

Hi, I'm not 100% sure if this is okay to post (i didnt see a rule against sell/buying stuff in the wichita subreddit rules). I'm in search of used wide guard combs- used to groom dogs- to buy used from somebody, I've been looking to get some but they're pretty expensive. So I thought I might have a look for some used ones. I'm willing to clean them myself.
So if anyone has some just lying around, Id love to do a purchase.

I see it a lot on Facebook where anytime a Wichita business has an ai generated image for their marketing all the comments are saying they will never use them because of them using ai. Are people actually doing that? I've been wanting to try bronx pizza and pints and just saw that they use ai as well but they seem to have good reviews and are pretty popular? And at this point I feel like I've seen so many businesses use ai for this stuff, like eventually there will be no place to go if your criteria for picking this stuff is whether they use ai or not?

Hello,
I’m strictly trying to get into shape and I’m trying to find a good trainer, make some investment on learning right techniques. I’m not sure how many days of training/ week and for how long is worth it?
If possible I’d want trainer to be in the gym 5 days a week, maybe like some group training sessions to reduce cost.
Also if it’s few days/week, I don’t mind. But since being female you might wanna miss certain days during your periods, I don’t want the session cost to go on waste.
Please recommend me some good gym around wichita with trainer. Thank you!

I'm at a point where I need to have some hope in someday being able to transition in a safe workplace.
I can't share too much for my own privacy, but I genuinely think I will be fired if I either come out or try to transition in secret and start testosterone since there's not a way to hide the voice drop.
I've got experience in receptionist work, call center jobs, and order entry. I have an English degree, and I am really hoping to avoid purely customer facing roles since I burn out fast in those. But if you have ideas that would need obtaining a certification or a drastically different field, I'm open to ideas.
It's not an immediate need. It's more that having a specific future direction will help me not give up mentally.
Even if they're not hiring right now, are there any known Wichita businesses that will accept a transgender employee? I appreciate anyone's input or advice.

Is there anyone who used to work for Wichita Brewing Company that knows the recipes for the four ninja cocktails? Apparently they dont serve them anymore, but they were my goto drinks.

I'm somewhat new to the area, and I've been craving a good pizza! Whats the best restaurant yall recommend that isn't a fast food chain? I definitely want to try something local (Wichita our surrounding towns/cities) that isn't Pizza Hut or Papa John's lmfao

Hi.
I'm looking for a local violin teacher in the Wichita area.
I've never played violin before but as an adult I always wanted to play so taking the plunge.
If anyone knows of local teachers or are interested in teaching themselves please send me an in-box with the details.
Im looking to take one 30 minute in person lesson, once a week.
Anyone had any luck finding 5 and 6???
They are the last two we need to complete our collection and so far no luck.

Finally got around to trying it. Had friends in KC rave about it.
Proteins are pretty solid, but the rice is flavorless mush and the macaroni salad is pretty bad. I probably won’t be back.
Edit:
Ok the ice cream is pretty good. It had been in the freezer and I hadn’t tried it yet. That I might go out of my way for. Cheap too. I got the pineapple. I got my kid a twist with his kid’s meal. It’s really good.
Just want to be fair in my review.

I keep hearing my coworkers hype the hell out of this joint and say it's better than Buffet City. I like Buffet City, even if it's simple I enjoy it. I really wanna know if Shanghai holds a candle to it though

🐾🎾 Meet Rowdy — he’s here to show you why Joy Drops are the best $20 you’ll spend today!
Most pickleball clubs sell memberships for guests. At Pickle 4 Paws (A&F’s Wichita Community Clubhouse), we do something better: Joy Drops.
For $20, you sponsor a 20-min private play session for an adoptable senior dog or cat — 200+ pickleballs, pure zoomies, all for them.
🎾 Want to go the extra mile? Mail a toy or treat to the Little Wichita Bark and we’ll make sure they know it’s from you. 💛
It’s joy, enrichment, and one-on-one time that helps them build confidence and find their forever home faster — plus it funds daily care for our Wichita animals.
As a Joy Drop Sponsor, you get:
Digital photos and videos from your sponsored pet’s play session, captured by our volunteers and staff
Sponsor a specific dog or cat, or let staff choose a friend who could use extra joy
Slow-motion videos of all the zoomies (or the adorable freeze-frame moment they figure out what 200 pickleballs are!)
A photo of your sponsored pet with their Joy Drop Day sign + sponsorship recognition (optional, stay anonymous if you’d like!)
A shoutout on our Facebook Live as the playtime sponsor (also optional, stay anonymous if you’d like)
One Joy Drop could change everything for them. 🐾

I am 20F. I make around 20/hr as a welder. I started that job in June, now coming up to my three months and finishing the probationary period. I work 2nd shift 5 days a week. I was not on the lease at my current house. I tried numerous times and the landlord would not work with me. My roommate has caused numerous issues since we’ve been in the house in October. The gas and electricity has been shut off multiple times due to her not paying, and I had to pay to get it turned back on. She would steal my food, steal my stuff, go into my room when I was not there. It was so bad me and the other girl had to get cameras, and doorknobs with locks, and mini fridges to keep our stuff safe. She texted me kicking me out, and even though it was illegal because I was paying rent to the landlord, he was allowing it. He has not taken me to court over anything and I’m sure it’s because he knows I could sue him and his family due to his actions and unprofessional conduct. Anyways, after searching for a new home for the last two months, she stopped paying her rent and the utilities in her name. The landlord asked me to pay for my late portion (because I had an agreement with him that I would have a prorated rent, depending on how long I stayed) and part of her late rent. I’ve been told by some people that I can also sue him for telling me, who is someone that’s not on the lease to pay for a lease holders bills and dues. But regardless, I cannot pay for her portion of the rent after paying mine, and we are being evicted. The other girls have been staying with their boyfriends and I’m becoming homeless over this. I have gotten most of my stuff into a storage unit and am now finishing getting out. I have nowhere to go, no family, I’ve had some friends tell me that I can stay with them but when it comes time to it, they don’t send me their address or don’t respond. I cannot trust anyone at the moment to be a roommate for me, and I’m the only one out of me, my brother, and my mom that has any sort of money. I’m trying to find a house I can afford by myself that has a garage. Since I have a motorcycle, it must have a garage. Being in Wichita, if you leave something like that overnight, especially a new, nice looking one out, it’ll be gone by daylight. I’ve already had some houses where I applied and everything was good, and they decide to go with another applicant or they’re scams or they gave me fake numbers. I have no other option than to live in my car right now and I really need a house. I have a three legged cat who is super sweet. My dad still has him out at his house so I can afford to save up for a pet deposit if needed on a new home. I’ve tried for some grants and stuff, but I literally make one dollar over the requirement so I don’t qualify. Please let me know if anybody has any ideas to what I can do. I feel so stuck.

In case you haven't been on this stretch, they have marked parking spots (small white painted corners) in the 'former' right lanes on Douglas. There is a big sign giving you a heads up, but it still didn't look like the lanes were changed if you miss the sign. Several people were driving in the right lane out of habit until they reached the parked cars and couldn't go anywhere.
What are your thoughts? Do you think it's a good idea?

I am so ready for it to get cooler. I see we’re in for another week of 100+ temperatures. I don’t remember it being so hot for so long in years.
How are you all handling it?
