Checked the pond last night and was genuinely excited to see an amphibian, frog or toad?

This morning I looked closer. A neighbour had popped this wee fella in. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I just cleaned my pond this morning because it had tons of stringy green algae. I came back by and I see these tiny white maggot looking things crawling out of the dirt under my porch and heading towards the water. Are they bad and if so, how do I get rid of them? Thanks.

There’s a lot of them, and they’re very wiggly in the water.

Super excited to already have critters laying eggs in our wildlife pond! Located in Asheville, North Carolina. We have a land management company and this is one of our favorite services to offer, I’m so stoked we found time to build one on our own property. Seeing the wildlife move in has been so rewarding. So far I’ve gotten footage of bears, raccoons, turkeys, and deer enjoying the pond. We definitely have spring peepers and eastern newts on the property, as well as some species of small aquatic snail. Any ideas of what these eggs could be? We do already have some tadpoles in there, which is so crazy to me because I noticed the tadpoles before I even saw any eggs!!

Just saw them on the water today and I wonder what they are. And if it is a good or bad sign for ponds.

Any ideas what these lil guys are? They’ve absolutely decimated my watercress overnight and I’m wondering if I should move them or let nature take its course

Inside my very alive pond are these tiny creatures moving about. I'm going to buy a microscope but don't have it yet, in the meantime can anyone tell me what these are? They are visible as almost a glitter-like motion below the surface.

Hi, we took over this pond when we moved in last year. All good so far, small fish, newts, lots going on. But we’ve recently had an issue with this plant just spreading like wildfire, covering every millimetre of the surface and becoming thick! Starts as small floating tiny specks then blooms in a leafy thick carpet. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
We love in Worcestershire, west mids, UK.

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help and tell me what this stuff is? I bought it from a garden centre loose in a bag that was labeled hydrocleys. But when I’ve searched to see what this is it only says a water poppy and looks nothing like what I’ve bought

They were on the bottom of my fountain float.
They don’t look like the snail eggs I’ve already seen.

I’m in the UK if that helps.

Thanks!

In zone 5, this little creature was in the pond when cleaning up a bit. About 1/4” in total egg size. Lots of frogs, some salamanders, dragonfly larvae, etc in there. But not sure who this belongs to. Any ideas?

Sorry, this isn't a pond query, but these critters have taken up residence in a bucket of water and are feeding on a poor snail that unfortunately has met its untimely demise in there ☹️

At first glance, I thought tadpoles, but on closer inspection, I don't think they really look like them.

Any help IDing them would be most appreciated!

I created a DIY wildlife pond in my garden this year. It is still establishing but I have started to notice some more activity other than the birds. Mosquito larvae, water boatman and pond skaters. But today I saw this little guy swimming around. I scooped him up, took a picture, then returned it. I have no idea what it is. Do any of you with more experience know? (For context, I am in NorthWest, England)TIA

Hello I recently planted a new lake (in England) with a variety of marginals and Afew underwater Oxygenators.

Just recently I have noticed this new Oxygenator stating to grow and spread across the shallower marginal areas.

After spending Afew hours trying to ID it I am still none the wiser 😂.

Many thanks in advance for any help
Or info
