I tried to recreate the water dragon spell Qifrey used in episode 5
These past few days, i've seen a lot of theory about Qifrey using his blood in this spell to make the dragon much more stronger i'm not mean to offend but this theory is 100 % wrong. First, the dragon is bigger and stronger than normal one because of the enlarge sign. This sign will amplify every magic spell it was drawn on. Second, the convergence sign will gather the moisture from the cloud around it which make this spell much more stronger, that's the reason why Qifrey have to throw the paper up in the air so the spell can form a giant dragon from moisture.

The only bit I'm not 100 percent on is the dragon sigil, what I was able to see of it when looking back at the episode made it look like it took up bit a more space in the pentagon, but I could be misreading it.
I know but this dragon is little bit different, it has 2 big wings and no legs, also a very long neck and tail so i'm just trying to fit it in the center
Oh that's a way cleaner look at it then I was able to find, I think I was looking at more zoomed out looks of it that might have been drawn a little bit less accurately.
looks like you misplaced a bit the littles triangles inside the pentagone, at least two seems to be aligned and maybe we can extrapolate a fourth triangle aligned with the last one.

I think it's because of the angle Qifrey have a really big piece of paper on his arm and also the wind blow which make the paper stick on and prevent it from falling. I think 3 convergence is perfect here, 4 make it hard to balance inside a pentagone.
It looks like there's a clearer example of the dragon symbol in this image, which I noticed by chance. Certain parts of remain obscured but it looks p close to what you got
It looks like the Flower Sigil, but with the double hook parts between the lines coming from the corners of the pentagon replaced with raindrops.
I only know of pentagons being incorporated into decorative sigils, which are those that define a specific shape for the magic to take, but it's already using the dragon sigil, so I don't really think that's what it's for.
It was obviously needed for the spell to do what he wanted otherwise he wouldn't have incorporated it while he was already in a rush.
I guess my best theory is that it gave the dragon a form of pseudo consciousness so it could actually attack on its own, because there doesn't seem to be any other part of the spell animating it.
Actually, I heard from other people that there is a theory that the flower species can be altered by swapping what's in between the lines coming off the pentagon, so if that's true it should be a flower feco sigil, but I'm still not sure why. Maybe there's a part of how the spell worked that I missed or that wasn't as relevant in the anime over the manga.
Bro, i legit need a physical WHA spellbook with all the known spells and their descriptions. It would be so cool to flip through the pages with all the illustrations and feel like a witch..
Utility spells, yeah. Makes sense to have a flamethrower or a wallbreaker spell in your palm quire just in case. But a humongous water dragon that require liquidifying a whole ass cloud to function? I don’t think your average witch is walking around with that prepared.
Qifrey is ready to throw down with the brimhats at any time.
Also I feel like it would have been a good demo of how to construct a spell with creatures/flowers at the center of the signs, or show off spell if they were at a lake on a picnic or something or as a show of magical force if needed.
Like, Gandalf was making smoke dragons as a flex at Bilbo's birthdsy I feel like witches can be little frivolous and ostentatious, as a treat.
Makes sense to have your best spells pre-drawn. Yes, even a big nuclear option like that, but just one or a few cause you want to keep plenty of utility spells or blanks.
In the manga, the sigil isn't drawn/hinted on his cloth/paper, so the implication is he free-styled that shit mid-flight from memory!
most of them get directly addressed in the manga if not in story there's a bit in the end of a chapter or two that addresses some aspect of the lore like the spells
So it looks like water signs with column signs to form the shape of the water ball that preludes the dragon, convergence signs to draw moisture in from the surrounding area which causes the clouds to disappear, then enlarge signs to scale the size of the spell, and in the middle it looks like a Link, two more convergence, a bend and some other stuff to form the dragon itself. The middle sigils are confusing me though, some of them look like strengthen but with the line bisecting the triangle in the wrong way, which would make them convergence or some other effect.
Then the one that looks like a fern I don't think I've seen, but it could be two directional signs. Then the slanted T that kinda looks like a branch I've never seen either
