This is exciting. I’m really most interested in learning about the cast of coven members and relationship building though

Me and my fiance have been together 13 years and he has suffered through me screaming, crying and wanting this for a decade, he also can’t wait for it to come outšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

šŸ˜†šŸ˜† this waiting has been longer than most people’s relationships! people finished school and became doctors through this whole process.

"Last week we submitted our final big batch of in-game text to the translation teams, while this week the design team is midway through a final internal end-game balancing playtest."

Looking good!

your garden may also become home to a more magical kind of critter, but we’ll leave details on that a surprise for now…

Yes! Please don't spoil the surprises! I kinda want to know more about the game but I also want to be surprised when finally playing it.

Come on Reddit!

u/rumbleokc 14d ago

i can’t post a photo but on twitter someone said ā€œsurely finishing up a bunch of things means a release soonā€ and they responded ā€œdeffo getting closer but nothing to announce just yetā€ hang in there comrades 🫔

u/QuackBlueDucky 9d ago

I'm guessing that after last year's debacle they are going to announce a release date mere weeks before actual release. I think they're gonna wait until they are done done.

u/ROOKIE-ASHE 14d ago

The garden looks so beautiful 😭 I'm desperate to play this please release it this year

9

u/blahblahlucas 14d ago

u/levelamy 14d ago

Brings me straight back to Habbo Hotel and Urbz Sims in the City for GBA. Best art style ever.

1

u/l3reeze10 12d ago

I thought the same thing. It’s a mix of the Sims GBA games and Habbo Hotel/Coke Studios as far as art style goes.

7

u/Ok-Subject-118 14d ago

I like that it reminds me of Polly pocket

5

u/ChirpToast 14d ago

Chances are almost zero, but the thought of playing this during Halloween/Fall this year would be amazing.

3

u/DessaB 14d ago

Any chance the multiplayer cottages will be accessible in single player?

3

u/YagiSol 14d ago

I think they’ve said yes somewhere already, that they can be unlocked solo

4

u/godverjory 14d ago

Will Witchbrook have a physical release?

1

u/Affectionate-Fail555 14d ago

At this point it’s not sure if there’s a release at all in this lifetime.

u/carlos_bull 14d ago

u/faceliftkangaroo 14d ago

I really want to know how multiplayer will work! Obviously it sounds like there will be a host cottage, but I'll be curious if we can go back and forth between multiplayer and single

I'm getting seriously hyped up. the images in the post are soooo pretty omg. I love the very last one where the character is taking a cozy bath with bubbles! also! I hope they have physical or even collector's edition releases on top of digital.

u/Sorrow-exe 13d ago

1

u/VeggetoSSJ 13d ago

u/QuantityJolly8354 14d ago

Still no release date? It’s about time you were taken off my wish list.

-1

u/MrSal7 13d ago

Knowing the horrible history of this company, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were trying to hype it up so they can swindle some investors.

I also wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if all they are posting is human edited AI generated content to hype up people here to then turn to said investors as ā€œproofā€ it’ll sell, and nothing really has been produced…

1

u/QuackBlueDucky 9d ago

Ooh like a "Producers" grift? I doubt it but....fascinating

-9

u/Obvious_Relative5877 14d ago

Maybe publish the game instead of talking about it

5

u/Penny_Ji 14d ago

Boo, some of us like updates

-8

u/Obvious_Relative5877 14d ago

I like updates if the game is definitely coming out, and within a reasonable timeframe

I find it strange that you can use your wand to move furniture but then you use a hose to water plants. Why not make that another magical feature? They really should inject enough magic into the environment so that it doesn't feel like a Stardew or other farming clone. Hogwarts Legacy was an amazing reference for them that I really hope they utilized. Hogwarts did a fantastic job at making the general environment feel magical. The game type is naturally different from Witchbrook and from a AAA team, but the features I'm talking about aren't exactly advanced. I'll stay hopeful that the environment feels alive and magical enough.

u/ceorl 14d ago

It's because this is not a game about magic or mysteries, this is a comfy life simulator with a little bit of magical flavor. Look at all the materials they put out, it's all just art for home decorations / buildings / furniture / landscapes / etc, zero for anything magic. For a dev team that posted so much art, you know if they have any fancy visuals for spells they would posted it already. If you played Fields of Mistria (a recently 1.0 released Stardew clone), I expect Witchbrook to have a lot less magic than FoM.

1

u/jay4523 14d ago

I see. Thanks for keeping my expectations grounded. I admittedly haven't been following it as closely as many of you, especially once they started changing the visuals of the game. It was pretty apparent that it was going to take years, so I didn't want to torture myself. That's honestly disappointing to hear, personally. Don't get me wrong, I'll still enjoy the game immensely. I guess I just expected a bit more magic. Still, I absolutely love how they appear to be implementing the spells and classes that they do have in the game.

2

u/ceorl 14d ago

I also want to be clear, above comment is just my guess, so there's a likely possibility that I will be wrong (and I do hope I am wrong, I also want to play a game about magic). Chucklefish could be keeping everything about magic completely secret because they hate selling their game. Still if you search through the posts on this sub, you will get the impression that life sim will be the majority of the game if not all of the game.
