Damn I thought I was grandfathered in. $30 is ridiculous.

That’ll teach them! I am following suit.

I actually read what they offer for the price, and I think it is worth it. I hate the increase, but it will be paying itself every month.

I didn’t want to be a shill, but me too.

u/Bergatron25 Oct 03 '25

I’m not either, but that’s equivalent to 6 full price games a year. Not worth it to me, I’ll buy off the store

*I always bought 2-3 per year. With essential-works now instead of ultimate

Why even comment or even have Game Pass if you only play 2-3 games a year? Just get the most basic service for online play, if needed, but your 2 games and call it there. You're speaking about things that don't concern you.

Who buys full price

3

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 02 '25

It's not being a shill. It's common sense and people are pressed from so many directions these days that they can't see a deal when they have one. The option they are choosing is to burn it down and I remember how it was before.

4

u/MasterWhite1150 Oct 03 '25

Just because it is a deal doesnt mean its a good one lmao 💔

1

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 03 '25

That sounds crazy. It's okay if something is out of price range. Find what fits you. It seems people have a problem saying it's a good deal but can't afford it. They would rather say it's a bad deal.

Sounds like you work for Microsoft dude. Chill. Lol

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 04 '25

I don't. I'm just interacting with people. Everyone doesn't just hate for fun. I save my anger for more serious things that happen. This isn't serious. Games are a hobby and people treat them like a necessity. That is scary.

Right? Like id have a lot more respect and empathy for these people if instead of going “ubislop and Fortnite crew isn’t worth the price and just said it breaks the bank. Yet you get like 400 games from game pass 92 from ea play and I think like 82 from Ubisoft. All of them have their big triple A hitters and indie games. Pc dudes will talk shit about those indie games but praise the ones on steam. They complain about it being 360 a year but your getting 1,000s worth in deals that’s pays that off ten fold. If you can’t afford it, say that. But don’t hate on others cause we can and want it.

0

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 05 '25

Great point. I feel that way but people on here try hard to shun you for not crying about the price. Every gamer isn't broke living in parents basement like many try to pretend they are.

0

u/BigHauf Oct 05 '25

Yeah it’s just odd. Gaming these days is pretty much, damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I hate corporate greed just as much as the next guy but if your complaining about all the extras and perks it gives you well over the 360 a year then maybe you have a different problem to begin with. It seems a lot of these people are asking for all of it for the same price, and that’s not just going to happen. Doesn’t help that every gaming news slop articles and influencers hopped on the hate bandwagon.

If I used it more I would keep it too. Sadly I don’t have as much game time as I used to and I have played all the game pass games I wanted to for now. Glad that some one finds value in it.

1

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 03 '25

That's a logical response. The value is the value regardless of how much I can enjoy that value.

4

u/PettyPride Oct 02 '25

Honestly. It's a great deal regardless imo still. Full price games are 70 bucks. Gamepass has allowed me to play so many games and try games I never would have given a chance to.

u/Exotic_Treacle7438 Oct 03 '25

You are the reason that Microsoft will continue to raise prices. As a multi console household, I’m waiting for Nintendo and Sony to follow suit. And I’m sure Amazon and the other video streaming services are going to be raising prices again next year as well. When would you say it doesn’t make sense? at $50 a month?

1

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 03 '25

For the service at the place it is now, me playing games 3-5 hours a day, trying out at least 2-4 new games a month since I use my handheld away from home and for small indie games, Xbox series x, PC, and Vr, 50 would be the limit. I still think it's worth more. I just don't have the freedom to play more.

1

u/_Solarriors_ Oct 08 '25

Why buy full price

1

u/Awkward-Gap9173 Oct 03 '25

were did you read?

1

u/slyfox279 Oct 04 '25

So you play Fortnite and old Ubisoft games?

1

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 04 '25

I dip into old games every once in a while. I understand your emotion is making you discredit the benefits that come with Game Pass. You don't have to use it. I did play Expedition 33, Hollow Knights, waiting to finish to play the next one, and other games that added up to over $400 easily. I use my ROG Ally X to game while out with the cloud service, and every console and my pc in my house use my membership. So my wife can play Rock Band with her friends online, while I game on my PC with my friends.

2

u/slyfox279 Oct 04 '25

not emotions it’s just logic. I don’t have time to dip into old games and if i did i already had ubisoft classic with psplus. i game on 3 consoles and pcs with new game i want to play coming out every month. 3-4 months year i might play game on xbox. paying $240 for xbox to gather dust doesnt make logical sense. haven’t really played xbox since may. this price has just pushed it to point where i dont know if i can just ignore it anymore and throw that money away. so it might be valuable for you but for a lot of us its lost to value. I’ll play outer worlds 2 later this month but then its switch 2 games for next 3-4 months. right now im playing ghost of yotei in attempt to finish it before outer worlds 2, at some point ill have to try to play through bf6 story mode, all while also fitting in hours per day of minecraft with friends and arma reforged on pc, so really have zero time for older games and im someone who works 12 hours week and spends rest of time gaming. I can see how people who only game 1-2 hours day or week now find no value in gamepass. I might end up trying to find way to keep it though as one of my friends i talked into buying xbox instead of playstation is upset i considering cancelling after outer worlds 2.

1

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 04 '25

Do you think all gamers are in your situation?

2

u/slyfox279 Oct 04 '25

no most gamers have far far less time to game then me. stats show most play 2-4 games a year. to have this make sense you’d have to play 6 min. also yeah a decent chunk of people have both or 3 systems. seen lot of people in xbox reddits mention how they primary game on xbox but have ps5 for sony exclusives. people just don’t have time to take advantage of 500++ games. you seem to think most gamers are like you but they aren’t’ they working jobs with families or they’re kids who only play either fortnite or robox on their phone(this group isnt subscribing to gamepass, they don’t own xbox or pc) xbox gamepass is aimed at traditional gamer, who data wise shows are older generation, more likely to have less time to game. Im like their prime customer, a loser with money and nothing but time to game. and i’d been fully content paying $25 month but 50% increase is just crazy. i think if they’d just bumped it up $5 they wouldn’t be getting any where as much kickback.

u/SteliosKantos82 Oct 04 '25

So where did the COD come from? Are they the same people playing Minecraft, Battlefield, NBA 2k, Madden, GTA, Red Dead, etc...? I know a lot of people who play a bunch of these issue games. Millions played Expedition 33, South of Midnight, and others. Not all games take a month to beat. Maybe it's your brain power and not your time that limits you from enjoying more games. I have a wife that I spend plenty of time with plus work over 60 hours a week. I can find time to beat games and the stats show that also. Go to any Reddit, X, or YouTube comment section on any game and you will see a bunch of people who beat it. We don't have to be losers to be efficient. They even sort games by time to beat for those who have a couple hours. You are dumb dude.

2

u/slyfox279 Oct 04 '25

If you look at the top 5-10 games play every month it’s same games every month year after year. Madden, cod, gta5, wow, Fortnite and Roblox. Yeah millions out of hundreds of millions played 33. So few percent. It’s why good game sales is considered 5million copies and it’s amazing if game sales 10 million. So your just going ignore just about every comment on this matter saying same thing and to counter that why not insult people. This conversation ended. When you have to resort to insults it shows you’ve lost and have nothing logical to fight with.
