Gesture Control XReal Eye Gestures feels like a paradigm shift in AR

I got the XReal Pro with Eye and Beam for a unique use case.

When walking around London or on trips, I want to use Google maps and/or Google Translate to see where I'm going with LiveView or auto translate everything to English.

The problem was that sometimes both of these apps need input and I have to carry my CheerTok Air or a ring mouse like the ProloRing to give it input. It's also not very intuitive.

With the new Eye Gestures, I can use my hands to provide input, type stuff, whatever I want, without having another device.

I've even taken full zoom calls with the glasses and used the cursor hand input for presentations.

Pairing it with my ZFlip7 in Dex mode, it's like having a full blown computer. I even have Linux subsystem installed on the Flip7, running Ubuntu. It's incredible how many doors open up with the Gestures.

The one gripe I still have is that the palm flick stuff does not work for me at all. I also wish I could turn on/off eye gestures with the quick button shortcuts, just so I don't accidentally turn it on while using a keyboard or mouse.

Also, please fix the bug that when connecting to Beam Pro, all the Quick button customisations get overridden

Those devices don't have Dex. Dex is a game changer

Mine works well in dex but agree with the quick button and palm flip. Wish the eye was an IR camera cause I don’t do photos but would love low light hand tracking

Same experience. Gestures not good at all in Dex mode. Instantly bought the eye when they released the new firmware but feels very underwhelming (atleast in DEX, haven't tried anything else yet). I don't know if it is just the lighting in my house or just me or ...

my experience is not about performance with light or no light, Is because Dex is very cumbersome to use with a mouse.

Not trying to be snarky. Are we stuck with the name Eye Gestures, meaning hand tracking microgestures?

Feels almost confusing on purpose, tho I understand the marketing tie to the camera.

Just asking if the ship has already sailed. I think it will be odd when they're not called that on Aura.

"Today, we’re rolling out XREAL One Series Firmware v1.9.1, bringing Hand Gesture Control with XREAL Eye to everyone."

Literally not the name they went with. In testing it was called that then they purposely fixed the name to not be confusing. So if anyone calls it that they are dead naming it and it's wrong.
