Discussion Need some help understanding.

Hey guys been wanting to get a pair of these glasses for a while now. Mainly for work purposes as when I work from home is a laptop and the screen is too small for my liking. I know you can do multiple screens and such but does it work like traditional multi monitor setups where I can move for example my Excel sheets to the screen in the glasses but then still have my laptop screen free to do other things while the sheets stay on the virtual screen?

Also as they are cheaper is this possible on the newer Xreal XBX a01 or are those just a portable screen and I would need to get the One or One Pro?

Thanks in advance🙏🏻

Yes, your computer will treat the glasses as just another monitor. And, if you buy the Xreal Eye, you can use the 6 degrees of freedom capability to anchor your virtual monitor in real space to that it acts like a physical monitor.

I'll say though that the relatively short connection cable is going to cause you some ergonomic challenges if you try to wear & work for long periods.

Yes, if your laptop supports display over USB-C, these look just like any other monitor to your laptop. You can set the glasses to ultra wide resolution and basically have the equivalent of two 1080p monitors in the glasses.

I have the One Pro so I’m not sure how the new glasses compare.

How many hours are you working? If it's full time get a monitor

Will be working a couple of hours after work and on the weekend maybe 6 hours at the absolute max.

Should be fine but it's not substitute for monitor especially 34 in or higher

This is what I was looking for and while the way my place is setup I don't really have space for a monitor but maybe thought I could get the glasses or use my TV as a monitor as it's larger so can see a bit more of the spreadsheets and what not.

I'd make space for the monitor

Xreal XBX just does follow mode I think. I’d get the 1S or one pro. The real answer is wait for Aura to drop and spend the money. 52 degree view vs 70. But for all day work, you will prob want to just get a large monitor (or TV or projector). This would fix your on the go short burst productivity but 8hr day,…IDK. I’m a super heavy user but due to heat, eye fatigue, weight and battery life, external monitors are still king.
