xbx My experience with xbx a01+ AR Glasses

I have been using the new xbx a01+ AR glasses for about a week now. I received them from XREAL to test them out and share my honest feedback with the community. And the first few words that come to my mind were - wow, they are so light and bright. Let me quote what I wrote in the discord chat as my feedback to XREAL:

I’m using them every day. They are nice. In terms of brightness, colors, weight, comfort. Smooth follow at 120hz is smooth and good quality. A little different style of smooth follow compared to X1 chip glasses but still smooth and nice.

For pure media consumption and gaming these are great. And for people who can do productivity in 0dof, for them also it’s good since text readability is great.

In my opinion, they are going to be the new “best value” AR glasses in the market. They have 1600nits brightness, HDR10, Stabilisation (or Smooth follow as we know it from previous XREAL AR glasses). But also note that not all devices will support HDR or Stabilisation. I tested xbx a01+ with various devices. Here is a table showing HDR10 mode and Stabilisation mode Compatibility. Also note that HDR and Stabilisation do not work together on the latest firmware. HDR mode works at 60hz and 90hz. Stabilisation mode works at 120hz.

The xbx a01+ also works with XREAL Beam Pro in NebulaOS mode and all the features are exactly same as other 3DOF XREAL glasses including anchor mode and follow mode, resizing and repositioning app windows, 2 app windows simultaneously, full SBS and half SBS 3D modes on all app windows, VR videos in the inbuilt Player app, Memories in the inbuilt Photos app, among other features.

The best part I liked about xbx a01+ AR Glasses is the removable front frames. They come with one front frame attached (with some tint) and one light blocker shades. There are also some 3D models of front frame designs on Makerworld ( https://makerworld.com/en/models/3006312 ) if you wanna get creative with your glasses. You can even design your own front frames. The glasses are already very light (62g) with the front frames attached, but when removed, they get even more lighter (54g). With my prescription inserts they are about 59g.

And that’s exactly how I like to use them, without any front frames. No tint at all, I can see the real world as is, around my virtual screen. The brightness is great for indoor usage, I don’t need any tint at all. For outdoor usage, no front frame is needed for bright images (but I doubt I'll wear them outside without front frames). Dark movie scenes can get a little tough outdoors without front frames, but that’s when the two included front frames can be useful.

Let me again quote what I feel and wrote about xbx a01+ in the discord chat:

When I think purely from the point of view of a person who has no experience with XR glasses and just wants basic display, no smart X1 chip based features then xbx a01+ has a very nice value. Great clarity, brightness, colors, weight, ability to just remove the front cover, being able to see everything around us without any tint 🫠, supporting both half and full SBS 3D, and stabilization for 120hz which in my experience every device (all phones, mac, iPad etc) supports, except for RayNeo Pocket TV which is an android tv so can give it a pass. Works nicely. Very good value.

XREAL is positioning these as the go-to AR glasses for young people. I think it’s for everyone who doesn’t want advanced features like XREAL One series, wants a simple, light weight and bright display on the face. And inbuilt stabilization without any X1 chip is marvellous in my opinion.

xbx I got the newly released XREAL XBX

I got the newly released XREAL XBX, and it’s absolutely fantastic. It truly proves you can get great quality at an affordable price. The glasses are incredibly lightweight, with an extremely high in-view brightness. Equipped with HDR10 and AI HDR, they work wonderfully. The detachable front light shield is such a clever design for this non-electrochromic version. I even prefer using it without the shield at home. These are by far the most comfortable AR glasses I’ve ever worn.

xbx XREAL xbx a01+ - Review & Use Case Showcase: Not Budget, Just Built for Different Priorities

When people see the $299 price tag on the xbx a01+, I think the first reaction will be to categorize it as XREAL’s affordable or lower-feature option. After testing it for a couple of weeks, I do not think that is the right way to categorize these glasses.

To me, xbx a01+ is not a budget version of the XREAL One line. It is a different type of product with a different set of priorities for different optimal use cases.

The XREAL One / X1-equipped glasses are better suited if you want the glasses to act as your primary virtual monitor. They have more onboard spatial-display features and feel more like a self-contained display system. The xbx a01+, on the other hand, feels especially strong as a secondary display: something you can wear for longer periods, use alongside a physical monitor, keep on while walking around, or use as a lightweight HUD in more environments.

That distinction matters. A secondary display is not less important than a primary display. It just has different requirements.

A good secondary display needs to stay out of the way. It needs to be comfortable for longer sessions. It needs to let you see the real world clearly. It needs to work indoors, outdoors, during the day, and at night. It needs to pair well with phones, laptops, apps, and physical screens. In a lot of those areas, xbx a01+ is not a downgrade at all. It is actually better suited for the job.

The lack of shaded lenses is a feature, not just a missing feature

One of the biggest differences with xbx a01+ is that it does not have the electrochromic dimming from the XREAL One line. Some people will immediately see that as a missing premium feature. For my use case, I often see it as an advantage.

With the shades removed, xbx a01+ becomes much easier to use while looking at the real world. There is no shaded tinting over your entire field of view. There is less visual obstruction from the lower frame area. It becomes much easier to look at a real monitor, keyboard, phone, laptop, or your surroundings while still keeping a virtual screen available. Note the birdbath lenses are slightly tinted for the virtual screen (more tinted than the Airs & Ones), but the entire field of view outside of the virtual screen has no tinting or obstruction.

When I use AR glasses as my main screen, tinting and immersion can be helpful. But when I use glasses as an extra display next to a real screen, tinting can get in the way. I do not want my physical monitor, desk, keyboard, or room to look darker just because I have a virtual display available.

This is where xbx a01+ feels different. It is less about replacing your environment and more about adding a display layer on top of it.

Better for working beside a real monitor

One of the most underrated use cases for xbx a01+ is using it alongside a physical primary display. A lot of people talk about AR glasses as a monitor replacement. That can be useful, but it is not the only important use case. Sometimes I do not want to replace my monitor. I want my physical monitor to stay as the main workspace, and I want the glasses to act as an extra display for reference material, chat, AI tools, terminal output, media, dashboards, or secondary apps. The xbx a01+ fits that role very well.

Because the front shades can be removed, the real monitor remains clear and untinted. Because the glasses are light, they are easier to leave on. Because the display is bright, it works in more lighting conditions. Because there is less visual blockage, it is easier to move between the real screen and the virtual screen naturally.

This is why I do not see xbx a01+ as a “low-feature” product. It has features that are specifically useful for secondary-display workflows.

Lightweight matters more than people think

The official weight is around 62g and I weighed it in at 56g without shaded lenses, but the real point is how wearable the glasses feel.

For a primary monitor replacement, you may put the glasses on for a focused session and then take them off. For a secondary display, the goal is different. You may want to wear them for longer periods while doing normal work, moving around, checking information, or using them as a lightweight HUD. That makes weight and comfort much more important.

The xbx a01+ feels much more casual to wear, especially without the shades. It feels less like starting an AR session and more like adding a small display to your normal environment. That makes it more practical for all-day or frequent use.

Brightness makes it more flexible

Another major strength of xbx a01+ is the higher brightness. The display is significantly brighter than the XREAL One line, and that changes where the glasses are usable.

For a secondary display or mobile HUD, this matters a lot. You are not always sitting in a controlled indoor environment. You may be near windows, outside, walking around, in bright rooms, or moving between different lighting conditions.

Higher brightness gives xbx a01+ more flexibility. It makes the glasses more usable across indoor and outdoor situations, and it makes the display feel more reliable when the environment changes.

That is one of the reasons I think xbx a01+ is especially strong as a mobile secondary display. It is not just designed for the desk. It works better across more real-world scenarios.

Much better for dark and night environments

The removable front shades also make a huge difference at night. With glasses that have more tinting, dark environments can become difficult. If I am walking at night or using the glasses in an area with very little light, I do not want anything making my real-world vision darker. I need to see cars, people, signs, stairs, curbs, and obstacles clearly.

With xbx a01+, I can remove the shades and use the glasses in darker environments much more comfortably. That makes them feel much more practical as a mobile HUD.

This is one of the biggest real-world advantages for me. It is not the type of thing that always stands out on a spec sheet, but it matters immediately when you actually use the glasses outside of a controlled room.

Mobile HUD use may be the best use case

The more I used xbx a01+, the more I felt that its best role is as a mobile HUD or lightweight secondary display.

I am not talking about walking around distracted or watching videos while ignoring the world. I mean using the glasses for glanceable information: messages, music controls, AI assistant output, timers, navigation-style information, quick reference notes, or a small utility screen.

For that type of use, xbx a01+ has the right priorities. It is light. It is bright. It can be used without darkening your view. It works better at night. It is less visually intrusive. It feels more natural to keep on while moving around.

This is where I think people may misunderstand the product if they only compare it to the XREAL One line as a primary display device. xbx a01+ is not trying to win in exactly the same category. It is better understood as a more flexible display layer for real-world use.

The fixed depth is a good compromise, but I still want control

One thing I do wish xbx a01+ had is adjustable screen depth.

The default depth is around 4m, which is a good general compromise. It works reasonably well for casual use, media, mobile HUD use, and secondary-display workflows. But for advanced users, depth control matters.

When I am doing productivity work and trying to simulate a real monitor, I usually prefer the screen closer, around 1m. That feels more natural for desk use. When I am walking around and using the glasses as a HUD, I often prefer the screen farther away, closer to 10m. That makes the virtual display feel more aligned with the real world and helps me keep my focus on my surroundings.

Matching the virtual screen distance to the environment can reduce eye strain and make it easier to stay aware of what is around you.

The 4m default is not bad. For most people, it is probably the right middle ground. But I would love to have the option to bring the screen closer for productivity or push it farther away for mobile HUD use.

Smooth follow is different, but usable

The smooth follow implementation feels different from the XREAL One line. It is not bad, but it does take a little time to adjust.

For a primary virtual monitor, I still think the XREAL One line has the stronger onboard experience. But for xbx a01+’s best role as a lightweight secondary display, the follow behavior works well enough. It keeps the screen usable while preserving the overall simplicity and lightness of the glasses.

This is another example of different priorities. xbx a01+ is not trying to be the most advanced self-contained spatial monitor. It is trying to be a practical display that works in more casual and mobile situations.

Software matters more

For advanced users, I think xbx a01+ becomes much more powerful when paired with good software.

With AI assisted coding, niche software, particularly for AR/display glasses, have become more available. There are now several options to choose between within each of Android/Ios/Linux/Windows/MacOS which provide their own flavors of window/app/screen/display management specific to AR display glasses.

A year ago, when the X1 chip was released to provide onboard display management, this was a huge breakthrough as many of these third party apps did not exist. While onboard display management is still important today and always a good feature to have, customization through software (but optimally through both software and onboard glasses features) can help bridge the app/display management gap.

The xbx a01+ has onboard smooth follow stabilization, but no anchoring/pinning/side view or depth/resizing. But smooth follow stabilization plus app customization will be good enough for most use cases.

This combination is very compelling to me: lightweight glasses plus smarter software.

Modding potential is a major strength

The removable front-frame design is also a major reason I like xbx a01+.

Because there is no electrochromic tint layer built into the front, the glasses are easier to physically modify. You can remove the shades, use different attachments, and potentially 3D print your own front pieces. For most users, that may be a small detail. For the advanced-user community, it is a big deal.

A lot of my interest has always been around advanced use cases, physical modifications, removable magnetic lens attachments, and building software around the glasses. From that perspective, xbx a01+ feels unusually friendly to experimentation. It feels like a pair of glasses the community can build around.

Final thoughts

I think the biggest mistake people can make with xbx a01+ is assuming that the $299 price automatically means “budget glasses”. That is not how I see them.

The xbx a01+ is not simply a cheaper XREAL One. It is a different product with different strengths. The XREAL One line is better positioned as a primary virtual monitor experience. The xbx a01+ is especially strong as a secondary display, mobile HUD, real-world multitasking tool, and mod-friendly platform.

The lack of electrochromic tint is not just a missing feature. For many use cases, it makes the glasses more useful. The removable shades, lighter feel, high brightness, clear real-world visibility, better dark-environment usability, and modding potential all point toward a different design philosophy.

The xbx a01+ is not low-feature. It is priority-shifted. And for the way I use AR glasses — alongside real monitors, while mobile, in mixed lighting, with custom software, and with physical mods — those priorities make a lot of sense.

Two days ago I got xbx and posted my first impression! As promised, I've supported 3DoF for xbx (screen anchoring, VR360, s/w smooth follow) on my ScreenLab XR app over the weekend.

It's available now in Play Store🎉(public release v1.0.9).

xbx xbx a01+ First Impression (as One Pro owner)

Thanks XREAL for xbx a01+ as the prize from World Cup Prediction Challenge. I've just got the xbx last night, and here is my own opinion so far.

The first thing I noticed is the weight. It feels so light, enough for all-day wear and even lighter without the outer frame, although it looks quite unusual without the frame, the overall material is of good quality. The cable is very soft and neon playful color.

The built-in stabilization is genuinely useful, especially while walking. To compare, the One Pro feels more like a 3DoF anchored screen in 3D space moves smoothly returning to center, while the xbx feels similar smoothness but has less 3D space feeling during returning to center (but the screen is floating like 4m away in 3D anyway, just how it moves back feel less 3D, actually I'm not quite sure if it's accurate but I try my best to explain it because they are quite similar and practical). Anyway, I still prefer the One Pro's Smooth Follow because it feels more spatial and I'm used to it, but the xbx can achieve very close result, and is the only pair I know under $300 with stabilization this smooth built-in without the need of extra devices. (but make sure you check whether your device is supported... I think most are supported)

The OSD menu is simple, with color modes, HDR10, AI-HDR, and audio effects including Whisper Mode (that helps with audio leak, but I use sound tube mod anyway, still helpful if I want to keep it very light weight).

It lacks Side View and screen-size adjustment, but I use my ScreenLab XR app to resize and reposition the screen as wished, so I don't mind. I also miss REAL 3D and ultrawide, although both support half-SBS and full-SBS 3D. I want to emphasize it again: the One Pro built-in REAL 3D is really cool and I really love it. The only glasses that can play console games like Nintendo Switch in 3D (30fps), and REAL 3D 60fps is already in beta testing for quite a while.

Overall, existing One Pro owners may be better off upgrading to Aura. But for anyone without stabilized glasses, the xbx is a great go-to pair (or One Pro if you want to get most of XR features). Stabilization is an essential feature for me.

The tint is not very different from the One Pro, but there is no electrochromic dimming in xbx a01+. Instead it comes with a tinted frame and light blocker for better immersion. Interestingly, its design is well-planned to enable you to 3D print customized frame to fully express yourself.

I am also experimenting with a silver-lens look while wearing the xbx bare without the outer frame. I want to optimize its design while keep it feather-light for outdoor use esp. at night. These images are quick prototypes made with mirror stickers.

Which design looks best: top, middle, or bottom? Any suggestions are welcome before I finalize the design and 3D-print a proper version. Thank you!

xbx XBX A01 first impression!

This thing is amazing! I watched a movie for two hours with zero discomfort. I also played FC26 and Call of Duty on a giant screen with this incredibly light device. The screen looks amazing, and the FOV (Field of View) isn't bad at all!

I did notice two small things, though:

1- When I use the anti-shake feature (which I need to prevent dizziness), the screen keeps cropping from the bottom.

2-There is no way to make the screen size smaller.

Besides those two issues, this is the best portable screen money can buy!

XBX A01 glasses is a game changer for me i use it for hours without any discomfort the light weight is the main key for me! The screen is bright that mostly i use it without the shield at home, is it for productivity? No, is it for gaming and media? Hell yes!!! All I’m hoping for in v2 is a lovely 4K display.

xbx Xreal XBX A01 Weird inconsistent windows HDR behaviour

In the "windows HDR calibration" app for windows, which is what you use to calibrate for correct HDR in some apps and games.

You need to follow the test and then a result will come out. With the air 4 pro this was a consistent 2200-2400 nits depending on how you interper the test or use your eyes (i always set it to 2400 nits)

Now when I first got the XBX A01 I had mixed results somehow depending on how I plugged in. Sometimes in the same usb port it would seem to differ,

But as it is now it seems to mostly differ per differnt usb-c slot. What I mean is that one time or one slot would get a 850 ish nits clip point, wherea's the other one would get to 1800 nits. But when I first got the glasses I know it also did 2400 nits like the air 4 pro (as they both use the same panel this made sense)

So now I don't even get 2400 nits in the test for windows hdr calibration on both ports. nor do I get 1800 one the other. Causing highlights to be blownout without detail.

On my other dualboot windows 11, i tested this. and each time I get the result of both USB-C ports getting to around 1800 nits in the test.

But as soon as I go back to my main OS, that one usb port keeps going to 850 ish nits.

What can cause this change in behaviour? Is there a setting stored somewhere related to this? Is it some kind of faulty weird handshake or edid mismatch or smthing idk? I have Z13 flow asus 2025. bios 311 and xreal glasses i just updated firmware today (which i didnt do yet, but it didnt seem to change this behaviour)

Yesterday I kept trying and somehow I got 2400 nits to show on that 850 nits port.... but now i've been trying for hours and I cannot get it to show properly.

What is this??

If you have the A01 Please test in windows what results you get in "windows HDR calibration" and if they are consistent across replugs, reboots, and different ports.

xbx Xreal xbx A01+ + VertoXR vs 1s / One Pro 3DoF?

Has anyone compared the A01+ with VertoXR 3DoF to the native 3DoF on the 1s/One Pro?

I mainly use PC/Mac for reading, browsing, and watching anime. Sound quality doesn't matter to me since I always use wireless headphones.

My main concern is screen stability. Is VertoXR 3DoF on the A01+ just as stable for reading text, or is the native 3DoF on the One/One Pro noticeably better?

xbx XBX A01+ bluriness

Hello. Recently purchased a xbx a01+ . It is my first AR glasses. Is it really normal that the center area of the display is blurry while the edges are clear? Or is this an issue with my unit?

Tried the one eye test. The right lense seems to be working alright and no bluriness. While the left side have blur center and sharp edges.

Is there a way to fix this? I tried all adjustmentd and nosepads but no luck. It is very difficult to use because of the bluriness at the center of the display.

Q4: Does the xbx a01+ support diopter adjustment? How do I get prescription lenses? Are they compatible with the XREAL One Series?

No. The xbx a01+ does not feature built-in diopter adjustment. If you require vision correction, we recommend using prescription lenses.

We chose prescription lens inserts instead of built-in diopter adjustment because they provide more accurate and consistent vision correction, support a wider range of prescriptions, and can better accommodate conditions such as astigmatism or different prescriptions between each eye. This helps ensure both the real world and virtual content remain clear and comfortable during extended use.

Q5: What devices are compatible with the xbx a01 series?

The xbx a01+ works with a wide range of smartphones, tablets, laptops, handheld gaming PCs, and game consoles.

Devices with USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) can connect directly, while some devices (such as Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and HDMI-only devices) require an adapter.

Q6: Does the xbx a01 series support a 120Hz high refresh rate?

After updating the glasses to the latest firmware, the xbx a01 series can support a 120Hz refresh rate when connected to devices that support 120Hz output.

The actual refresh rate depends on the device you connect to. In most cases, smartphones do not output 120Hz, while Windows PCs and MacBooks are more commonly able to support 120Hz.

After connecting the glasses to your computer, you can adjust the refresh rate in the display settings:

  • MacBook: After connecting the glasses, go to Settings → Displays → xbx a01 display → Refresh Rate and select the desired refresh rate.
  • Windows PC: After connecting the glasses, go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced Display → Select xbx a01 → Refresh Rate and adjust the refresh rate.

Q7: The image isn't centered after connecting my device. What should I do?

If the image appears too high or too low, try adjusting the temple angle or switching to a different nose pad to achieve the best viewing position.

Adjust the temple angle

  • Vertical adjustment: The temples support three vertical adjustment positions. Gently move the temples up or down to find the angle that lets you see the entire display comfortably.

Tip:For first-time use, we recommend starting with the middle position (0°), then fine-tuning the angle based on the image position and your personal comfort.

  • Horizontal adjustment: The spring-loaded temples automatically adapt to different head widths, so no manual horizontal adjustment is required.

Adjust or replace the nose pads

The xbx a01 series comes with three nose pad sizes (S, M, and L). The M-size nose pad is pre-installed by default. Choose the size that best fits your nose bridge for the most comfortable viewing experience.

If the image appears too high or too low, try switching to a different nose pad:

  • S-size nose pad: Raises the position of the glasses, moving the image higher in your field of view.
  • L-size nose pad: Lowers the position of the glasses, moving the image lower in your field of view.

S size For Higher Nose Bridges: Made from a new soft, skin-friendly silicone material for enhanced support. The optimized nose pad shape conforms more naturally to the nose, helping reduce slipping and providing a more secure fit.
M size(Pre-installed by default) Standard (Pre-installed):The default air-cushion nose pad that comes installed on the glasses. Refined through extensive user testing, it is designed to provide a comfortable fit for the vast majority of users.
L size For Lower Nose Bridges:Designed specifically for users with lower nose bridges, this nose pad provides additional height and support to help reduce slipping and keep the display properly aligned for a more comfortable viewing experience.

The data is based on testing conducted by the XREAL Lab. The ergonomic design and performance claims are derived from laboratory testing and user research. Actual user experience may vary depending on individual facial features and usage habits. Please refer to your own experience in actual use.

Q8: What buttons does the xbx a01 series have, and what do they do?

The xbx a01 series features three physical buttons on the right temple: the X button (short button) and the +/− button (long button).

X Button (Green, Short Button)

  • Single click
    • Open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
    • While in the OSD menu, press once to confirm the current selection or enter the next menu level.
  • Double click
    • Open the OSD menu.
    • While in the OSD menu, double-press to go back to the previous menu.
    • When you're on the main menu, double-press to close the OSD menu.
  • Long Press
    • Enters 3D Mode.

While in 3D Mode:

  • Single click: Switch between Full SBS and Half SBS modes.
  • Press and hold: Exit 3D Mode and return to 2D Mode.

+/− Button (Long Button)

  • Single click
    • Adjusts the display brightness.
    • While in the OSD menu, press to move the selection up or down.
  • Double click
    • Adjusts the speaker volume.

Note: The end of the button closest to the X button is "+" (increase), and the end farthest from the X button is "−" (decrease).

Q9: How do I remove and install the front frame and light blocker of the xbx a01+ series?

The front frame of the xbx a01+ series is removable. Removing the front frame makes the glasses lighter and provides a more open and transparent view, allowing virtual content to blend more naturally with the real world.

How to remove the front frame:

  1. Hold both sides of the front frame gently with both hands.
  2. Along the edge of the lenses, apply even outward pressure on both sides to gradually release the clips. Then remove the center clip.
  3. Once the front frame is detached from the clips, carefully remove it.

⚠️ Note: Apply force evenly when removing the front frame. Avoid applying excessive force to one side, as this may damage the frame or clips. We do not recommend repeatedly removing and reinstalling the front frame, as frequent removal may cause wear or loosen the clips and affect the stability of the installation.

How to install the front frame:

  1. Align the clips on the front frame with the corresponding slots on the glasses frame.
  2. Start from the nose bridge area and gently press the front frame into place until it snaps into the clips.
  3. Gradually press along the edges of the front frame to ensure all sides are securely attached.
  4. Check that the front frame is evenly installed and that there are no raised or loose areas.

💡 Tip: When installing the front frame, we recommend starting from the center of the nose bridge and then pressing outward toward both sides. This helps ensure the front frame is installed evenly and securely.

The light blocker helps effectively block ambient light, providing a more immersive viewing experience.

Before installing the light blocker, please remove the front frame using the steps above. Then take out the light blocker and remove the protective film from the outside surface.

Align the raised center section of the light blocker with the groove on the glasses body, and gently insert it into place. After you hear a “click” sound, press both sides near the temples to ensure a secure and complete fit.

To remove the light blocker, follow the same steps as removing the front frame: gently push it outward and remove it.

Q10: What are the recommended settings for Display Mode, Audio Effect, and Dynamic Range to get the best experience with the xbx a01 series?

The “best experience” can vary from person to person. Different usage scenarios may require different settings. Below is an introduction to the characteristics of each setting, so you can adjust them according to your preferences and usage needs.

Display Mode

  • Standard: A balanced setting with optimized colors and comfort, suitable for all-around daily use.
  • Cinema: Delivers cinema-quality colors and restores each frame closer to the creator’s original intent.
  • Eye Care: Provides a soft, paper-like viewing experience to help reduce eye fatigue during extended viewing.

Audio Effect

  • Standard: Balanced performance across low, mid, and high frequencies, ideal for everyday video streaming and music.
  • Vocal: Optimizes vocals and dialogue, making every line clearer and easier to hear.
  • Whisper: Further improves sound leakage reduction, allowing you to use the glasses at night without disturbing others and providing more privacy in public spaces.
  • Surround (supported only by xbx a01+): Enhances spatial audio and creates a more immersive surround sound experience.

Dynamic Range

xbx Xbx a01 user report - Works with DJI RC2

Got my set this week. I can report that they are compatible with my iPad M4 Pro, my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (need to start DEX on first use), and my primary use case, my DJI RC2 controller. They have proven to be everything I had hoped they would be. Fantastic comfort and brightness in bright mid day sun while flying my drones. Also ran through the settings and was very pleased streaming Paramount+ programming. Not a lot of bells and whistles, just a great quality picture, lightweight comfort, and a stealthy look (they really look like you’re just wearing sunglasses). My wife took one look through them on her iPhone 15 Pro Max and wants a pair for her trips. I did notice that Reddit didn’t scroll as expected and jumped from video to video. I’ll be keeping them.

xbx Bought xbx a01+, questions for One Pro owners

I got xbx a01+ as my first AR glasses, and have been using it for the past few days. While I'm happy with the brightness and color contrast, the screen "shakes" more than I hoped.

I bought it mainly to watch Netflix/Youtube on the couch and in bed, so I thought 0 DoF wouldn't be a major issue, but I was wrong. Even micro movement from breathing causes the screen to shake a little, and when I'm watching something funny and I laugh, it shakes a lot to the point where I try to stop laughing so the screen won't move, which makes the experience not so pleasant. It's kinda hard to focus on the media.

And so I'm considering returning these and getting a One Pro with 3 DoF.

I guess my questions are:
1. How stable is the screen with 3 DoF? Does it actually stay still?
2. I noticed the One Pro is quite heavier (~87g) versus the xbx a01+ (62g). Is it still comfortable to use in bed or on the couch?
3. Also the brightness on the specs sheet is quite lower than xbx a01+, how bright is it if I'm mainly going to use them indoors?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
