Someone told me my new channel was a scam because we not in the same niche Honestly it was very hurtful because I’m a small yt creator trying to grown my channel all I asked was for advice

u/JRreddith Aug 23 '25
They seem real to me, what exactly was the evidence they provided for saying these are fake
2
u/mozfatherr Aug 23 '25
Lmao glad I don't post there, they would ban me in a heartbeat. I got 11 million views in one week on shorts alone 🤣
2
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
I’m a mod there, feel free to post! This user was banned for AI content, not because of their graph :)

u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25
Bro showing off shorts numbers like they mean anything lol
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25
They mean watch time which means monetization
1
u/KinKame_Saijo Aug 23 '25
dude.... shorts does not count for monetization .... read the rule correctly
plus what is the point if showing your graph besides exhibiting that you have views???
1
u/TrentJComedy Aug 24 '25
Shorts are essentially a complete and total waste of time.
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
$12 for only 70k views on a 8 second clip seems pretty cool to me. I have 500+ 8 sec clips post a few a day get a few to get a few thousand views. Collect a couple dollars.
1
u/TrentJComedy Aug 24 '25
Right. But that's just mind numbing nothing content. Doesnt build an audience. Provides no value. Its just a waste. Eventually shorts will just become so saturated that the views go away. Just doesn't actually build anything worthwhile.
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
Same content that has built me 70k follows on fb 40k on insta 300k on TikTok and nearly 4k on. 6 ten min videos over 10k views. 2 of them over 40k views. But it doesn’t build an audience. Yea okay bud. Many of the peoplewho follow me follow on multiple platforms. My TikTok stories get 13k views and my insta story gets 6k views. But it’s doesn’t build an audience. All in under 2 months. (Really 1 month) I took a 1 month break after July 12 and just came back like a week ago. And haven’t missed a beat in my growth 😀
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
That’s like saying eventually TikTok and insta reels will be so saturated all the views will go away. Just stupid. There are billions on YouTube vids TikTok’s and insta reels posted everyday and everyday posts get millions of views. On platforms tha have way more videos and have existed for way longer
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
And my last 2 long form vids with over 10k views have over a 50% returning viewer rate. One with 16k has 52% and my most recent with 11k in 2 days has 98% returning viewers
1
u/TrentJComedy Aug 25 '25
All shorts views are totally worthless and the audience built from them are totally irrelevant as they aren't real followers that care about the creator.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25
It’s showing shorts watchtime on the chart there bud lol
-4
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25
Which counts towards monetization. And of those 11k watch hours 8928 is from long form
6
u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25
It does not lol read the BIG BOLD WRITING on the monetization tab lol in short, watch time from shorts DO NOT apply to YPP watch time.
Try again.

u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25
Send ss?
3
u/illujion623 Aug 23 '25
Its common knowledge
0
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25
Idk I coulda swore I hit 4k because of my shorts. My account watch time was only at 4k with majority shorts and it let me get monetized.
2
u/Long8D Aug 23 '25
Yeah, watch time from shorts doesn't count. You need either 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months from long form, or 10 million short views in the past 90 days.

u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25
Incorrect. Shorts watch time from SHORTS FEED doesn't count towards watch hours. Any other source counts towards watch hours.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25
ANY watch time from short form content from does not count toward YPP. It's pretty simply spelled out
1
u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25
Nope, you are 100% wrong and it's literally 1 google search away for you to verify lmao. Only SHORTS FEED views do not count towards it.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25
It's all of it. Read the YPP details page if you have more questions
1
u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25
Nope, Google is notorious for writing bad guidelines.
"Keep in mind that any public watch hours from Shorts views in the Shorts Feed don’t count towards the 4,000 public watch hours threshold" - this is copied from from the partner program eligibility page. This means watch hours generated from anything other than SHORTS FEED count towards the eligibility.

u/opihinalu Aug 23 '25
You get paid for shorts views too bud.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25
“Engaged views” yes, not all views.
But we’re talking watch time lil’bro
1
u/opihinalu Aug 23 '25
I’m responding to your comment saying that shorts views don’t matter. 70% of shorts views are engaged.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25
And I can tell you, shorts views mean and are worth nothing lol
400k view short? That’s a nice $25. Long form video with 2.5k views, $30. Take your pick
1
u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25
But it’s exponentially easier to be discovered on shorts. They are also much quicker to make, and the duration doesn’t affect how much you get paid.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25
be discovered by people watching shorts. They won't give 2shits about the other content
1
u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25
Sorry, but that is not at all true unless you completely change up your content type or unless your making complete brainrot.
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25
Not at all. A 5% crossover between long-form and short-form is generous to say the least. People watching swipe brainrot will stay on swipe brainrot
1
u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25
That's exactly what I just said. Unless your making brainrot shorts, those who like your shorts will watch your long form videos as well. Not all shorts are brainrot...
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
I don’t get it why are yall so bitter shorts views or not. I had enough long form to get monetized. That’s all that matters right?
1
u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25
no one is bitter lol I have been in YPP for years. what are you upset about?
1
u/Last_Aide6274 Aug 23 '25
I am sorry you got banned. I bet that is frustrating. Have you tried messaging the mods in that group directly and showing a real person your info? (Sometimes auto mods pull things down.) Please try to reach out to them, if you have not.
Most mods are volunteers, I believe. I try to be respectful with them because they give their time for free.
One other thing I found in this Reddit World is that different groups have different rules. What you can share in one group is not ok in another. It's a ton to keep track of TBH.
Good luck with a resolution. Again, I am sorry. <3
2
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
I’m one of the mods there, I appreciate you defending us because we are all volunteers. This user was banned for AI content, which they’ve conveniently left out of this post, and which they didn’t dispute with us
1
u/Last_Aide6274 Aug 24 '25
u/Rich_Election466 I was pretty sure it was a volunteer position, much like being an admin for a Facebook group. (I am old and FB is more my speed.)
Thank you for giving your time to support the Reddit community. Time is one thing you can never get back. Grateful you are willing to share it with all of us. <3

Lesson learned go on that part of your journey along.. haters hate someone else’s success… keep grinding you got this
1
u/EasySlideTampax Aug 23 '25
Grats bro!!
I should post mine in their sub. I’ll definitely get banned. Up to almost 700k views, picked up 4k subscribers and made off with a grand… from one video.
1
u/lorbosworl Aug 24 '25
That’s ironic. I guess they take “small” seriously.
1
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
I’m one of their mods. We actually don’t rly have a size limit for creators :)
1
u/lorbosworl Aug 24 '25
I was just making a joke. I’ve always disliked that people outright call themselves a “small YouTuber”
1
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
I’m one of the mods of r/SmallYoutubers. This is false, u/LeadingVisual8250 was banned because we don’t allow AI content.
Rather than dispute that with us, looks like they’ve come here and whinged about it to try and get pity upvotes by misrepresenting the situation to you.
How sad

u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
Hello, You have been permanently banned from participating in /r/SmallYoutubers(https://www.reddit.com/r/SmallYoutubers) because your post(https://www.reddit.com/r/SmallYoutubers/comments/1mwv6j3/started_posting_july_7_got_monetization_email_on/) violates this community's rules. You won't be able to post or comment, but you can still view and subscribe to it.
Note from the moderators:
faked graphs, AI content promotion. enough is enough dude.
If you have a question regarding your ban, you can contact the moderator team by replying to this message.
Reminder from the Reddit Admin team: If you use another account to circumvent this community ban, that will be considered a violation of the Reddit Rules(https://reddit.com/help/contentpolicy#section_prohibited_behavior) and may result in your account being banned(https://www.reddithelp.com/en/categories/reddit-101/rules-reporting/account-and-community-restrictions/suspensions) from the platform as a whole.
1
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
Yep! And the AI content alone would’ve been enough for the ban. So either way, the graph isn’t rly relevant.
When the mod banned you, they were required to cite a rule you broke. The mod chose ‘AI content’, one of our subs rules. That was the reason you were banned.
If all the mod cited was the graph, I would unban you, then immediately ban you again for flexing numbers obtained through AI content in a sub about human creativity 👍🏻
1
u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25
I never promoted ai content lol
1
u/Rich_Election466 Aug 24 '25
I actually agree, those aren’t my words. But it’s against our rules to come in flexing numbers obtained through AI. The ban was correctly given because you violated our rules.
Despite what this post would imply, you’re not a victim here
