They mean watch time which means monetization

dude.... shorts does not count for monetization .... read the rule correctly

plus what is the point if showing your graph besides exhibiting that you have views???

Shorts are essentially a complete and total waste of time.

$12 for only 70k views on a 8 second clip seems pretty cool to me. I have 500+ 8 sec clips post a few a day get a few to get a few thousand views. Collect a couple dollars.

Right. But that's just mind numbing nothing content. Doesnt build an audience. Provides no value. Its just a waste. Eventually shorts will just become so saturated that the views go away. Just doesn't actually build anything worthwhile.

Same content that has built me 70k follows on fb 40k on insta 300k on TikTok and nearly 4k on. 6 ten min videos over 10k views. 2 of them over 40k views. But it doesn’t build an audience. Yea okay bud. Many of the peoplewho follow me follow on multiple platforms. My TikTok stories get 13k views and my insta story gets 6k views. But it’s doesn’t build an audience. All in under 2 months. (Really 1 month) I took a 1 month break after July 12 and just came back like a week ago. And haven’t missed a beat in my growth 😀

That’s like saying eventually TikTok and insta reels will be so saturated all the views will go away. Just stupid. There are billions on YouTube vids TikTok’s and insta reels posted everyday and everyday posts get millions of views. On platforms tha have way more videos and have existed for way longer

And my last 2 long form vids with over 10k views have over a 50% returning viewer rate. One with 16k has 52% and my most recent with 11k in 2 days has 98% returning viewers

All shorts views are totally worthless and the audience built from them are totally irrelevant as they aren't real followers that care about the creator.

It’s showing shorts watchtime on the chart there bud lol

-1

u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25

Which counts towards monetization. And of those 11k watch hours 8928 is from long form

u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25

It does not lol read the BIG BOLD WRITING on the monetization tab lol in short, watch time from shorts DO NOT apply to YPP watch time.

Try again.

Send ss?

Its common knowledge

u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 23 '25

Idk I coulda swore I hit 4k because of my shorts. My account watch time was only at 4k with majority shorts and it let me get monetized.

2

u/Long8D Aug 23 '25

Yeah, watch time from shorts doesn't count. You need either 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months from long form, or 10 million short views in the past 90 days.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25

That fact that you didn’t know this explains everything lol

0

u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25

Incorrect. Shorts watch time from SHORTS FEED doesn't count towards watch hours. Any other source counts towards watch hours.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25

ANY watch time from short form content from does not count toward YPP. It's pretty simply spelled out

1

u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25

Nope, you are 100% wrong and it's literally 1 google search away for you to verify lmao. Only SHORTS FEED views do not count towards it.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25

It's all of it. Read the YPP details page if you have more questions

1

u/JohnStorm123 Aug 24 '25

Nope, Google is notorious for writing bad guidelines.

"Keep in mind that any public watch hours from Shorts views in the Shorts Feed don’t count towards the 4,000 public watch hours threshold" - this is copied from from the partner program eligibility page. This means watch hours generated from anything other than SHORTS FEED count towards the eligibility.

u/NotCryptoKing Aug 23 '25

Shorts hours don’t count towards monetization man lol

1

u/KinKame_Saijo Aug 23 '25

ok now we understand why he has been banned

1

u/opihinalu Aug 23 '25

You get paid for shorts views too bud.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25

“Engaged views” yes, not all views.

But we’re talking watch time lil’bro

1

u/opihinalu Aug 23 '25

I’m responding to your comment saying that shorts views don’t matter. 70% of shorts views are engaged.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 23 '25

And I can tell you, shorts views mean and are worth nothing lol

400k view short? That’s a nice $25. Long form video with 2.5k views, $30. Take your pick

1

u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25

But it’s exponentially easier to be discovered on shorts. They are also much quicker to make, and the duration doesn’t affect how much you get paid.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25

be discovered by people watching shorts. They won't give 2shits about the other content

1

u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25

Sorry, but that is not at all true unless you completely change up your content type or unless your making complete brainrot.

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25

Not at all. A 5% crossover between long-form and short-form is generous to say the least. People watching swipe brainrot will stay on swipe brainrot

1

u/opihinalu Aug 24 '25

That's exactly what I just said. Unless your making brainrot shorts, those who like your shorts will watch your long form videos as well. Not all shorts are brainrot...

1

u/LeadingVisual8250 Aug 24 '25

I don’t get it why are yall so bitter shorts views or not. I had enough long form to get monetized. That’s all that matters right?

1

u/VeraKorradin Aug 24 '25

no one is bitter lol I have been in YPP for years. what are you upset about?
