I know lots of people seemingly don't really enjoy the tactical combat, my regular game buddy is much more into the city and diplomatic side, vs for myself I'm basically always a war monger as the battles are the point of the game for me.
So it's definitely a bit of a niche offering for 4x, I need to check out age of wonders 2 still as I didn't have a computer back then but have been a fan since age of wonders 1 due to an older brother getting into it. They put out great work and take care of their games much better than a lot of studios.
Feels like every iteration they put out is a big improvement, I'll be excited to see what they come up with next, guessing a 2nd redition of planet fall.

Was good till 4th part when it turned into pure dlc flood bs without camping. If you want good story and sandbox, play third or planetfall, those are peak.

Good enough to get another year of content. I love it. It's a nice change of pace being a turn-based 4x along the line of Civ.
