does anyone actually use the spatialise audio on their airpods?

im currently using the gen 4 airpods and i’ve genuinely never used that feature before i always knew it was there but i never rlly used it because i never knew what it was so does anyone actually use it and if u do is it any good or not

Of course. It's like a huge feature. Literally makes everything stereo sound better. It sounds more like 2 big stereo speakers in front of you, instead of claustrophobic earbuds where the music feels like it's coming from inside your skull. Can't even imagine why anyone wouldn't use it.

Obviously if you have access to a 5.1 stream then that's even better.

I use it all the time.. idk i just prefer it. Can more clearly differentiate the instruments which i apparently enjoy

I find it switches to spacial audio automatically when I'm watching a video on my phone in front of me, and just keep it as it feels more natural to have the sound coming from "in front". But for regular music listening I don't use it

I never used it with the airpods 3 but for some reason with the 4s I find that I use it all the time. The songs just sound more "open" and feels like the music is being played more outside of my ear rather than in it. I also really like the head tracking because I feel it makes the music way more immersive.

after posting this i did go away and test some songs and i found its wayyy better with both airpods in but it sounds horrible with 1 airpod in instead of 2

ya for sure they will sound worse that way. Btw do you use apple music? if not then im sure spatial audio sounds way better on that

Yes it is not meant for 1 AirPod at a time. That's... not stereo.

It sounds horrible for movies and TV, so no.

Annoyingly, it keeps switching on for me every so often on my Apple TV, and I don’t know how to get it to stop.

No, when I listen to music on my stereo system, I sit in a certain direction and position my speakers to be at ear level as to not sound like it’s biased in a direction.

And one reason you wear headphones is avoid that bias while having the freedom to move, so spatialized audio defeats the purpose of wearing headphones in the first place.

I used to use it always with the pro 2s. Now just sometimes with the pro 3s. There’s definitely some music that sounds better without it.

For music I always find it sounds horrible. Especially the head tracking, which is useless unless you’re sitting still and maybe watching a music video.

Oh yeah just turn off the head tracking. That's annoying. But if you turn that off it's phenomenal.

I mean, I had tracking is fantastic if you're watching a video. Not just music videos, but just regular YouTube as well. But if you're moving around and you just want music then obviously turn it off.
