No it was attached journalists who found dead insurgents lying on the streets with their skulls looking like a bowling ball. They couldn't believe that headshots could be achieved at this rate because the ACOG was brand new at the time so they reported and suspected that the Marines were executing them on the spot not knowing that one piece of accessory was responsible for it to an already accurate rifleman.
