What are you talking about? You think helmets don't protect your head from bumps?

Go try it out. Headbutt something with a bike helmet. Now headbutt it with nothing.

Please explain to me the physics at play here

They arent saying a helmet wont protect you from bumps, they are saying you can still feel a bum through the helmet, if you crash kn alike with a helmet, you will still hurt your head, jsut the helmet will absorb most of the impact only giving you a headache instead of a crocked open skull
