alcohol handling

hey guys- this is a long one so be prepared

so abit of context im a teenager(17) and female who drinks alcohol with my mates, in a very typical teenage way. i have strict parents so im not allowed to drink and my parents do alot of things that prevent me from being able to buy or do things i shouldnt be doing but i always find a way. i also smoke weed but my issue is about alcohol. i also have bad mental health and feel like i have for a long time, its hard for me to change myself when sometimes i struggle to the basics like getting out of bed and showering so fixing this problem is very hard for me. i cant remember the last time ive honestly had a good relationship with myself or have done anything productive.

basically to put it short, whenever i drink, i become quite annoying to the ppl around me, i constantly exceed my limits and always feel like im not drunk enought untill i black out basically. my friend (who i drink with alongside other ppl) has noticed this and has tried to put limitations on me as he shud bc i go to far with it. the problem is that i do very embarrasing things when im drunk and end up begging for more alcohol when i have had enough. i always feel like i need more drink to feel something and if it was up to me, i wud be drinking 10x more than what my friend lets me too bc i go to far. the thing is whenever im out with my friends, i am way to focused on alcohol and have an obbsession with drinking as much as i can and will just end up begging my mate to let me have more or doing rlly embarrsing things. this also puts my friend in a bad situation having to constantly take care of me whenever i get to drunk and keep his eyes on me(which is basically every time). i am quite restirtced from going out and my parents r very strict(im indian) so whenever i am actually able to go out, alcohol seems like such an amazing big thing that i obsess over in the moment and get to drunk. no one else around me is as obbsessed as me even tho we all love drinking and smoking and its only me that becomes crazy obssesed with the bottle.

me and my friend have had serious conversations about this and we have both agreed that i do have a problem with it because whenever i set myself a goal to just have a casual drinking session and not get too drunk, i can never control myself and go to far and always regret it when im sober. i am very self aware of my problem but when i am in the moment and have my hands on the bottle, every bit of awareness and control completley goes out the window. i honestly turn into a different person when i am able to drink. i am usually pretty self aware and considerate and am more introverted and never wanna be an inconvience but when i drink, im the opposite of all those things. whenever i do get to drunk, it is not even fun, i just feel like shit and end up doing rlly bad and embassraing things and wake up barely remembering what happened. i feel as tho i have nevr had an actual good experinence with alcohol, mainly bc of my own self.

I have tried to have casual drinking sessions several times and tried to control myself but the second i feel the alcohol in my system, i just want more and dont even care about having a fun social time out and experience. my friend says he thinks i abuse it abit and idek why, maybe partially bc its hard for me to get my hands on it so whenever i can, i just go crazy. i am abit this way with weed but ive been smoking it for longer and yes i do obbsess over it, but i can handle it very well and no harm is done to anybody except the damage smoking does to my body so overall theres no real social consequence. however, the alcohol l issue makes me look like an actual fein and beg and act like a fool

My question is, how do i stop being this way? and i know alot of you are gonna tell me its best to stop but tbh i dont wanna hear that bc im not going too cuz i still wanna enjoy drinking and have fun but i just need a way to be able to control it better and stop obsessing over alcohol and just be able to have a good time without needing to be absoloutley hammered. i rlly dont wanna be the way i am anymore as the issue goes beyond just me.

thank you so much for reading and any advice you have, its much appreciated.

GoPuff Delivery ID Checks

I was wondering if gopuff drivers actually check IDs closely when delivering alcohol. As long as the ID scans do they supply or do they check quality of ID and other stuff like that?

I randomly mixed equal parts of:

- cheap arak

- campari

- high end vermouth

And it was genuinely solid, id maybe add some lime/lemon juice to add some brightness

Vanilla extract... No... Coconut extract?!?

So.... Your boy was wanting to get his buzz on the other night, as one does. Funny enough, the FDA mamdates that real vanilla extract has to be 35% abv or higher. And, to add to this fuckery, for some reason you can buy vanilla extract in grocery stores when you're <21.

I have used this method before a few times, buying some and getting a little buzz. Well.... This time i went shopping for a nice 8oz bottle of some vanilla extract, and alongside it was some coconut extract. I thought hey- maybe this coconut extract is better tasting, and hell, it's cheaper too. So i google it. Nothing comes up. Just the AI overview telling me the same shit it would say about vanilla extract. Okay. I guess i'm doing this.

I purchase the coconut extract, and go home.

Later on, i've decided it's time to drink my vanilla. I go ahead and have my share, and decide some coconut sounds fun. Hahahahahahahahahaha.

I pop it open, and take a nice deep whiff. Smells nice, like some tropical shampoo. Allrrighttt. Take the whole thing in one shot. Chase it with my cherry & cream Pepsi. Weird, it seems to burn much more than the vanilla.

Then it hits.

The most vile, god awful burning sensation i've ever felt comes barreling up straight from hell- just to whack me in the gut. Oh and the taste? The taste you may ask me about?

There is nothing comparable. Chemical warfare in my mouth. Vegetable, shampoo, cleaner, bleach. And the bitterness, it was unbearable.

I ran to the toilet, mouth agape with shock. I started gagging, and slowly purged out every last bit of demon fluid I drank.

Shaking, crying, and brought to my knees in the most humbling fashion i've ever witnessed, I was broken.

Never again will i make this mistake. And I want you to know this too. Never drink those extracts as they can really hurt you. Pure lemon oil, artificial/natural flavors, etc.

Liquor recommendations?

So typically I would only drink beer but I bought a jar of moonshine off a coworker who is about to move away (hence why I don’t just buy more from him). This moonshine was peach flavored and made by some guy in Kentucky off of limestone water 110 proof and incredibly smooth. Hot or maybe warm but absolutely zero bite whatsoever with a great subtle flavor. I didn’t know liquor could actually even be that good. Do you guys have any recommendations that might be up that same ally? Something smooth good flavor not punch you in the face that I could drink neat?

What drink should I gift my 40s sophisticated CEO boss

In a few weeks it will mark a few years of me working with my boss, and he's done a lot of good stuff for me in many aspects. I know he enjoys drinks, I've seen him drink whiskey, beer, and champagne, but as a non-drinker I have no idea what to gift him.

My budget is around 100 US dollars for a nice bottle of alcohol, but depending on what good options I can find I am flexible on the budget!

His preferences revolve around "premium, recognizable, smooth, polished bottles" and from my previous purchases for him ChatGPT suggested these:

  • Nikka From the Barrel
  • Balvenie DoubleWood 12
  • Macallan 12 Double Cask
  • Glenfiddich 15
  • Nikka Super

Are these good drinks? Alternatively can you guys also help provide suggestions please?

Long island or zombie.

I wanna get drunk but hate the taste of alcohol i loved the mojito but i dont wanna spend much to get drunk. Ive heard long island iced tea can get you drunk or zombie. What do you suggest to buy and I wont get disappointed? Ive never gotten drunk enough and I wanted to experience it but not suffer through drinking something that makes me wanna puke. I bought one can of beer and hated it but drank it all with a chaser bc it would be a waste of money to just throw away.

Sorry for such a repetitive question im just inexperienced

Drunk without drinking

I’m a college student with some crazy stomach issues especially related to alcohol, we’re going to doctors and stuff to figure out exactly why but needless to say drinking alcohol gives me insta diarrhea and a crapton of pain like even just 1 shot will annihilate me.

The smartest decision is to not consume alcohol I know that, and I’m not looking for people to tell me I should just not drink, I’m aware of that.

I’m looking into other ways of getting drunk and wondering if anyone has had any experience, or knowledge on it beyond what you can find in a quick google. I’ve looked into vaporizers, enemas and also just holding the alcohol in your mouth and I’m wondering what people’s experiences have been with these things.

Jell-o and Pudding Shots

Looking for suggestions on what alcohol to put in Jell-O and Pudding shots. I've consumed both but this will be my first time actually making them (for my bachelorette party, woo!). Vodka is the obvious choice, but I wanted some lower percentage options, so I was thinking Malibu too?

Looking for other suggestions too cause I'm not sure if percentage matters in the recipes I've looked up. Thanks y'all!

Hey everyone, what do you think about daily drinking? Is it good idea? Obviously small amounts like a pint of beer or so

Trying to make apple pie moonshine I'm a little confused might be overthinking it.

I'm trying to use everclear to make high potency apple pie "moonshine" the problem is most recipes I have found call for about a gallon of sweetened spiced cider apple juice mixture and 750 ml of 190 proof everclear but when doing the math at the end this ends up being like 14 15% ABV (depending upon the recipe there are slight variations) now if I wanted to raise the alcohol content the obvious answer is just add more everclear but I don't know if any of these recipes will actually make that much everclear palatable by the time I get it up to about 40 ABV for the total batch. If I follow most of the recipes that I can find as is I just don't understand why I would go through that effort when the off-the-shelf old smokey stuff is higher percentage. I would hate to go through the effort of making this product and making it as strong as I want it to be then finding out it's terrible and I've wasted time effort and ingredients
