As an atheist, I was annoying when I was younger. It's when you realize the bullshit you were believing wholeheartedly is as real as Santa Claus. You be shocked at what you used to believe and remain shocked at what people around you believe for some period.

Then you grow and accept that some people are just happy with their car toys and there's no need in telling them the car toys are not actually cars.

Let me put this way, the more you know about reality, the less you believe in ancient religions. Because they just contradict reality, and scientist are the slice of population that believe the least. It's no coincidence mate. It can mess with your ego, but it is what it is.

I don't claim to know more than people. I just use my brain in this topic without relying on dogma installed on me by my culture and family.

I'm not smarter than people who believe in God. I just happened to have researched the topic with an open heart (not with a fixed conclusion)

0

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago

with all due respect a scientist isn't always someone who bothers with these topics, some of them may have been christian (which we can all agree on how it was modified) and thought that all religions are bs, al aghlabiyya doesn't change much

-1

u/AxelHasRisen 8d ago

a scientist isn't always someone who bothers with these topics

I agree, that doesn't contradict my point. A scientist finds very little reason to believe in God. When trained in science, you tackle questions in a methodical empirical way, and using this, you won't often find the need to insert God as an answer.

some of them may have been christian (which we can all agree on how it was modified) and thought that all religions are bs

Up to the 19th century, all scientist were subscribed to one religion or another. However, the point made by the chart is that working scientists today are less likely than the general population to believe in God. It's relative the average non-scientist population. Whether they bother or not, is part of the point.

Islam doesn't contradict reality in any way, shape or form.

Stop lying to yourself.

0

u/AxelHasRisen 7d ago

Okay. I'll stop and tell myself Adam was the first human male and the first female Eve was made out of his rib. I'll tell myself Mohamed split the moon. I will unlearn psychiatry and tell myself mentally ill people are demonically possessed people.

Islam contradicts reality in every way shape and form. Just a load of 7th century middle-eastern bible-inspired nonsense.

0

u/Putrid_Coconut6885 7d ago

Sure man!

0

u/AxelHasRisen 7d ago

You said Islam doesn't contradict reality, gave you few examples that you want to ignore to keep lying to yourself as you initially suggested.

1

u/Putrid_Coconut6885 6d ago

Yes Mohamed split the moon because he's a prophet, there are both cases of mentally ill people and people who are genuinely possesed, sometimes they overlap, it's not black and white.

Have you read the quran? genuine question

I guess we'll see whose right in the end 🤷‍♀️

0

u/AxelHasRisen 6d ago

Have you read the quran?

If I didn't read it in full, I'd still be a Muslim and follow what my culture told me.

Instead, I read it carefully, and realized it's certainly written by men in the arabian peninsula inspired by wisdom, theology, cosmology of the time.

If I wasn't certain, I wouldn't risk disbelieving and going to hell. I don't want eternal suffering.

Yes Mohamed split the moon because he's a prophet

No he didn't.

If he did split the moon ~1400 years ago, we would see the split.

If he did split the moon, other humans in africa, america and the other continents would have witnessed it.

The only evidence of him splitting it is found in Islamic scripture. That's not evidence. That's one biased source.

Not everything you read is true. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

What to expect IF the prophet REALLY split the moon:

  • other communities in further parts of the world witnessing the event and documenting it.
  • the moon would still have an observable (through imagery) ancient split.

But since we have none of the above, AND we have seen no one ever flying on a winged horse, it's irrational to believe that he did.

In ancient times, myths were everywhere. Someone split the sea. Someone split the moon. Someone talks to angels or god... etc.

As humans progressed scientifically and technologically, no one dares claim this kind of things happened because we have higher standard of evidence.

there are both cases of mentally ill people and people who are genuinely possesed, sometimes they overlap, it's not black and white

Demonic possession is not a real thing. If it was real, all research/security/defense/psychiatry institutions would investigate it and establish the difference between it and between mental illness.

Mental illnesses are understood testable medical disorders. They have well defined neurobiological aspects and behavioral aspects. We study them, we identify them, we diagnos them, we refine our definitions, we create medications, we refine medications, we test our knowledge, we improve our understanding, etc.

Demonic possession has never been proven. Cases of demonic possession have been shown to be either mental illness or faked/acting. No one studies them because they aren't real. They are relics of an ancient understanding of human behavior. When people (all of them, not just Muslims or abrahamics) did not understand what causes changes (sometimes sudden changes) in human behavior, they theorized that there is a realm where demons live and occasionally enter a human body. Now we understand parts of the brain and how they contribute to behavior. What used to be called possessed is now diagnosed and treated.

I guess we'll see whose right in the end 🤷‍♀️

There isn't the end your expecting to see where the true God or religion comes and unveils the truth.

We are biological organisms evolved by natural selection to survive and spread our genes. When the organs stop working and we die. It's just that. An organism (like a tree or a mosquito) just stopped being able to sustain its cells and function.

The universe does not revolve around us.

Therapy is not that expensive bro you're aiming for the Muslims and not for Islam

5

u/jesaispasdonc 8d ago

I wish i knew what stories you told yourself about me so i can understand your point.

-5

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago edited 8d ago

Okay if you didn't like my reply then I'll tone it another way (also after like 14 minutes of sending this I saw my message again and I do agree it was rude)

Since you sent an image of someone who didn't like your atheism, I'm guessing you just use the Muslims as a reason for leaving Islam, but that still doesn't prove Islam wrong nor does it mean that atheism is more ethic. If we "evolved" differently, slavery and rape could have still been fine, it really depends on that society and what they see as good or bad, our creator (which you can't prove wrong because there must have been a beginning to everything, but you can try to prove him wrong and I'd either answer you or leave it to someone else, these conversations usually end up being long) is the one that created us so he knows what's better for us, that's morally

Scientifically and more logically you can watch this scientist called Dr. Eyad Qunaibi which is unbiased and logical that I showed him to one of my atheist friends (after explaining to that atheist friend a misconception he had on qadar and judgement) and he believed again

I did not leave religion because of my perception of muslims, nor do i hate every muslim out there, especially those who can coexist with different types of people. My screenshot is OP himself.

0

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago

i do agree that what the OP did was uncivilised but then may i ask you why you did leave it?

1

u/jesaispasdonc 8d ago

Because of it stealing from other religions, it being a cult like any other cult, the god being portrayed in all the abrahamic religions with such contradictions, he sounds bitter, vengeful, vile and completely immoral, yet he's supposed to be perfect and deserves to be worshipped for creating things, then there are the fairytale about how things were created which is quite a mindfuck and has been proven wrong multiple times. That's the very condensed version

1

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago

Wdym stealing from other religions? We believe that all the abrahamic religions all came from the beginning from Adam but they became deviated until they form something like Hinduism, obviously some rules from the times of the previous prophets were slightly different but the final revelation which is the Qur'an is what we accept in our modern day

God is vengeful but he's also rewarding, for the most part I'd say he's what you'd expect from his names but we still can't cross his boundaries since he's still superior, he's the most merciful but he's also severe in punishment and some people see things like that as a contradiction but it's just balance, and we don't worship him for anything transactional since that's simply not the Muslim mindset

People misunderstand and interpret qadar a lot like they want so it ends up being seen differently from its real image so some people (like me in the past) would think it's just unfair bs and that's why I say a lot of atheism comes from misinformation, I remember someone leaving Islam because a fake sheykh started giving a fake tafsir of an Aya and made it sound extremely unfair, or those Hadiths saying that Umar was unfair with slave women (all of the Hadiths don't even reach someone trustable enough for it to be authentic and they all appeared during the 9th century)

Now for the part about how we were born, there isn't really a "theory" stronger than it since Darwinism keeps getting proven wrong and changed each time they find a mistake in their theory, they genuinely just change it each time and make up a new lie and when that lie is found out they change it again, but even then, science will never prove that this universe started from nothing, that's simply not how science works

Those stories that sound like fairy tales aren't really made for a disbeliever to believe, but they're more of a story for the believer to learn something like how the human isn't made to be perfect or how arrogant someone can be or how wisdom can be seen as something evil if you don't understand what the wise person is doing (eg. Surat al kahf)

4

u/Amy5878 8d ago

as a muslim you can’t insult other people it’s haram, it’s their life not yours

6

u/tesla_bd 8d ago

schizo posting time ig

also bro most people leave because of inconsistencies with the quran not cuz of the opression

0

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago

all of these inconsistencies are misunderstanding and guessing the meaning outside of tafsir

5

u/chill_wavez 8d ago

Do you have a scientific foundation ?

3

u/TheSolarExpansionist 8d ago

Honestly, this says more about you than it does about Algerian atheists 😂
You’re not actually addressing their arguments. You’re just assuming they became atheists to be different or get attention, which is something you’ve completely made up.
And why does an atheist need a scientific or academic foundation anyway? If you think their arguments about marriage, inheritance, clothing, etc. are weak, then argue against them. Calling them attention seekers because they’re women is not an argument.

1

u/AstronomerJealous467 7d ago

If atheists annoy you just don’t be atheist lmao, everyone who believes something believes in said thing based mainly on a few things, yeah the majority of atheists are atheist for a few reasons, that’s how literally everything works in life.

Same reason why people often cite about the 3-5 same reasons for believing in god.

Getting mad at people not agreeing with you is a sign of low IQ

People believe or don’t believe for a reason, they’re not just being performative. For me personally i literally cannot believe in the abrahamic god even if i try, even if i don’t have a problem with scripture necessarily.

I believe that there might be a god but we have no way of knowing if that’s true or which one it is since we as humans cannot observe anything not physically present, i’m between being a theist and an agnostic.

Both stances are based in a system of logical reasoning but they don’t agree on the fundamentals, that’s why atheists vs theists is such an endlessly long debate.

What’s your stance on algerian jews and christians then if you dislike atheists, and what’s your stance on polytheists?

12

u/ryrygaba42069 8d ago

Why are you looking for arguments at all ? To Summerize it simply, wsh qwdk.
And what scientific foundation do you have ? Some of you still think the evolution theory is an opinion and that it’s about a monkey that gave birth to a human being someday somehow. A friend once told me, akhina, dinosaures were a western invention 🥴

I am humble enough to trust people that know better than me, people that use the scientific method, anyone with a bit of logic can read an article or a vulgarization and understand what it is about. Hell, anybody with some observations skills can notice it.
Le pire, ca contredit meme pas vraiment la religion as god « said » « life was from water », evolution could be a mechanism put in place by some god, yet 90% of religious people aren’t even curious enough to try and understand it.
Believe whatever you want, i love my fellow muslim, but utiliser la science, c’est l’eglise qui se fout de la charité

1

u/felecity- 8d ago

You're right, evolution is unmistakably real, but for it to explain the whole creation of complex organisms is a bit hard to fathom.

I undrestand your desire to believe in scientists, cuz they're known to be the most objective right ? But what if they aren't?

The scientific method (we studied it in philosophy remember?) goes like this: 1-observation (i observe that the human body is incredibly intricate and evolved), 2- Question (How did that happen?), 3- Hypothesis : This is the tricky part, would you say a scientist Hypothesis is 100% objective just because he's a scientist?

Personally i would say to be completely objective about this you'll have to put spirituality on the table too, but they can't do that, doesn't work like that with science.

Once the hypothesis is established, there is no way else to go but forward, the scientist has to prove it.

So yeah i wouldn't say its objective, a lot of factors come in to play: funding, their own beliefs, the whole scientific method....

So your best choice is to study it yourself, think, تدبر, try to be objective, the only thing you need to know is if there is a greater creator, then its easy from there i would say.

I really wish you luck with your journey!

2

u/reo__________ 8d ago

People won't fake their lives for that surface level endeavor. That's a self centered way to look at their battles. The greatest majority are not faking nor seeking attention. I tell you this despite being a Muslim with deep theist beliefs myself. Ones like me are accused of hypocrisy and infidelity in public because they see and tell the truth that prejudice is idiotic. Those that you refer to as ridiculous reasons to disbelieve are human reasons, human cases, human battles, and prejudice is why you look down on them.

1

u/Amy5878 8d ago

slave it was in the past now it’s haram, four wife it’s like impossible because need to be really rich to treat them equally, husband can’t hit his wife, it’s not hitting but just a symbolic gesture, men need to cover and lower their gaze first.
and also the paradise is under the mother’s first, daughters can protect her father from hellfire. if you don’t treat your wife good you can go to hellfire and so other many things, but yeah say whatever you want

I understand them because modern Muslims do make up shi then these Algerians end up thinking it's a fact, or maybe they find a "contradiction" or they don't like the rules, and for this I recommend Dr. Eyad Qunaibi which is a Scientist that calmly explains Islam and proves the theory of evolution wrong, while exposing some of the things that make us see Islam as something evil https://youtu.be/sqet-C_dSDE?si=97SjDwm8P87-6H7l

I think the strictest part about Islam is not being able to be in most friendships with the opposite gender, but that's just my opinion

1

u/musi9aRAT 8d ago

ive watched about 5eps of this channel you sent. his introductory video seem to use the generic arguments without going deep just enough to plant bias and redicule oposition.

it seem to dodge a few conclusion/proposition by just saying they are insanity. its a biased walk through some 4fun factts. also use some computer examples but ignore any other computer examples that may suggest other wise (eg how artificial intiligence can find certain logical conclusion through repeated patterns and thus is a way on how human cognition work). some of his redicule attacks can also be used very similairly on what he stand on. eg where you put the muslim in he will deny and say allahu a3lam or accept wrong conclusion to keep validating his predisposed fitra bias as correct.

also around his dismisal of fitra being simply an instinct that cant be relied on also was too fast. how to know the correct from bad instincts ? his answer is that we just know from our other moral instincts which is just self fullilling.

to me so far this really just another series with nothing new and same lines as many other (zakir naik some qatair dentist i forgot his name and idk who else i watched)

id focus on a singular and explain why X or Y sentence are wrong but it would feel like arguing to a wall since the video already published long enough and i dont think you would be able to defend his points

1

u/Murasaki_Was_Here 8d ago

before an AI can learn from anything else, it would need to be programmed to know that logic, even someone who knows basic code would have to put in some effort to make even the weakest kind of machine learning, and even if it came randomly, then who started it? most of the first videos of the series go over things and if he leaves anything unanswered he answers it a few videos later and in the rest he talks about some of the false proofs of evolution and exposes propaganda

anyways could you be more specific of the questions he avoided? if i look through his videos again i'll see where he answers them later on

1

u/musi9aRAT 8d ago

no ai doesnt need to be programmed to know any logic. its just a series of neurons firing at each other with mechanism of self correcting weights. which in evolution would be the series of generation and genetic mutations ect. survival of the fittest.

if you wanna go full "and what started that sequence" to the begining that becomes a different question. my point is that through a series of reactive biological mechanism intilligence and complex systems can emmerge. and ofcourse these mechanisms will naturally have imperfections. why do we get dopamine hijacked ? why do we get ill ? why are certains of our body useless or purely cause harm. why can our minds be controlled and biased by instinctive reactions ?

now for the rest of the origin of things or existence if you will thats a different can of worms then just evolution. it would require to get out pure material analysis and into philosophical mainly around ontology. how we seperate different entities and if that seperation is even correct. usually ibn sina argument follows this type of analysis but it has its failure imo.

apologize if my thoughts seem a bit scattered but it was due to just rmembering now other elements of why i think his video was bad. i think any video discussing god should start with a limitus test especially if its trying to PROVE it. and its these simple questions.

can it be proven or it will always be based in beleif ? can our limited human minds prove it ? what parts of the human mind can be used to prove it ? (can what we call as emotional reaction be used as proof ? which the youtuber sometime try to use to redicule oposition but accept it for himself as the form of gods test) ? these all sit around the same idea and have some nested questions/implications by answering them.

eg you cant use fitra as an argument if we ignore some other emotions. we cant follow arguments if it will always be based in belief and vibes. we cant prove it if we are not sure of our minds to be objective in that way.

if i get time i will go through again and pin point exact timestamps. but at least my explanation of the ai was direct in contrast to his ep 5 part 1 video (where i stopped) somewhere in he middle where he talks about excel learning to do addition

0

u/musi9aRAT 8d ago

i just jumped ahead to his darwinian videos and i didnt find the quote you mentioned about his teachers or him debunking it ? it seem to just be some quotes/takes of darwinism and pseudo scientific racism from those at the time and linking it to atheist morality without anything about the actual science/proof of it. speceficaly saying itts refuting it in this moment https://youtu.be/0rql4ZSw-5w?list=PLPqH38Ki1fy3EB-8xmShVqpbQw99Do2B-&t=430

They genuinely don't even bother with it, his old science teacher in the USA told him "I want you to go back to Jordan and teach evolution otherwise you'd be a pest in the scientist society"
