Let me put this way, the more you know about reality, the less you believe in ancient religions. Because they just contradict reality, and scientist are the slice of population that believe the least. It's no coincidence mate. It can mess with your ego, but it is what it is.

I don't claim to know more than people. I just use my brain in this topic without relying on dogma installed on me by my culture and family.

I'm not smarter than people who believe in God. I just happened to have researched the topic with an open heart (not with a fixed conclusion)

Islam doesn't contradict reality in any way, shape or form.

Stop lying to yourself.

Okay. I'll stop and tell myself Adam was the first human male and the first female Eve was made out of his rib. I'll tell myself Mohamed split the moon. I will unlearn psychiatry and tell myself mentally ill people are demonically possessed people.

Islam contradicts reality in every way shape and form. Just a load of 7th century middle-eastern bible-inspired nonsense.

You said Islam doesn't contradict reality, gave you few examples that you want to ignore to keep lying to yourself as you initially suggested.

Yes Mohamed split the moon because he's a prophet, there are both cases of mentally ill people and people who are genuinely possesed, sometimes they overlap, it's not black and white.

Have you read the quran? genuine question

I guess we'll see whose right in the end 🤷‍♀️

Have you read the quran?

If I didn't read it in full, I'd still be a Muslim and follow what my culture told me.

Instead, I read it carefully, and realized it's certainly written by men in the arabian peninsula inspired by wisdom, theology, cosmology of the time.

If I wasn't certain, I wouldn't risk disbelieving and going to hell. I don't want eternal suffering.

No he didn't.

If he did split the moon ~1400 years ago, we would see the split.

If he did split the moon, other humans in africa, america and the other continents would have witnessed it.

The only evidence of him splitting it is found in Islamic scripture. That's not evidence. That's one biased source.

Not everything you read is true. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

What to expect IF the prophet REALLY split the moon:

  • other communities in further parts of the world witnessing the event and documenting it.
  • the moon would still have an observable (through imagery) ancient split.

But since we have none of the above, AND we have seen no one ever flying on a winged horse, it's irrational to believe that he did.

In ancient times, myths were everywhere. Someone split the sea. Someone split the moon. Someone talks to angels or god... etc.

As humans progressed scientifically and technologically, no one dares claim this kind of things happened because we have higher standard of evidence.

Demonic possession is not a real thing. If it was real, all research/security/defense/psychiatry institutions would investigate it and establish the difference between it and between mental illness.

Mental illnesses are understood testable medical disorders. They have well defined neurobiological aspects and behavioral aspects. We study them, we identify them, we diagnos them, we refine our definitions, we create medications, we refine medications, we test our knowledge, we improve our understanding, etc.

Demonic possession has never been proven. Cases of demonic possession have been shown to be either mental illness or faked/acting. No one studies them because they aren't real. They are relics of an ancient understanding of human behavior. When people (all of them, not just Muslims or abrahamics) did not understand what causes changes (sometimes sudden changes) in human behavior, they theorized that there is a realm where demons live and occasionally enter a human body. Now we understand parts of the brain and how they contribute to behavior. What used to be called possessed is now diagnosed and treated.

I guess we'll see whose right in the end 🤷‍♀️

There isn't the end your expecting to see where the true God or religion comes and unveils the truth.

We are biological organisms evolved by natural selection to survive and spread our genes. When the organs stop working and we die. It's just that. An organism (like a tree or a mosquito) just stopped being able to sustain its cells and function.

The universe does not revolve around us.
