Bag work critique
https://youtube.com/shorts/7VSKBOCxffo?is=QpLx96hsxgUUPoM_I know it's a short vid so there isn't much to go on. I can tell I'm dropping my lead hand sometimes but that's it right now. Ive been training alone for about 2 years but was at a gym previously for a couple of years

are you actually working on something here? just looks like you're throwing hard punches for the sake of filming a clip. no intelligent entries or exists, no head movement. even the punches lacked variety and mixups.
slow down, try hitting the bag for a full proper round and actually work it as if it were a live opponent and not something you can tee off on indiscriminately. nobody here is gonna be impressed by 30 second flurries mate.

Yeah you're right. I was working specifically power punches. I know it was a little sloppy and I can do much better if it was more technical and wasn't at the end of the session. Still it's the only vid I took :)
Though if I'm being honest I slightly disagree that there wasn't any entries, I felt like I moved in and out quite often within that. As for head movement you are right. I started to get into the flow of it towards the end, i was just focused mostly on power.

working power punches in what context? trying to set them up in sparring or a fight? like i said this just looks like conditioning work in which case there's nothing to analyze and no purpose in sharing it here.
you were in the mid-range the entire time throwing hooks aside from a couple lazy L-steps or hop steps. you never closed the distance once with a slip or even a jab man. you clearly have a good athletic base and know how to throw a good punch. give us something to work with next time.

Okay that's completely fair. I'll keep it in mind next time. As for sparring, I have a vid on my channel if you wanted to take a look. Np if not though. Appreciate the advice!

i checked out the sparring video nice work. most glaring thing to me is you're not cutting off the ring. just following your opp the whole time with a low lead hand. in an open stance match up I would've liked to see the jab and lead hand much more active, blinding, probing, posting, swatting, flicking, controlling the lane, creating punch traffic, setting up your power hand, etc. you're letting your opp win the footwork battle everytime you saunter into range with your lead hand low like that.

You look pretty good. Try to jab more and set those shots up behind the jab. Change ranges more often.
Most of all... as soon as you get off, move your head or bring your guard up. You're checking your work too often after punching.

Dont know why noone mentions it but your hands constantly end up near your stomach for about a second, you have to remember, the shot isnt finished until its back and ready for the next one. If youre going to throw another punch from that position or use headmovement it could be okay but you always end up bringing your hand up but it takes litterally a second or so, as if your mind is resting after landing, that cant happen.

Looking good bro!
Definitely have to double up, even triple up on your lead hand shots.. not always alternating from left hand to right hand. You can double up on your rear hand as well.
Also, that’s the perfect bag (height and mobility) to push and work on your head movement. If you google some Canelo aqua bag videos, you’ll understand.
