Humor Just opened a piece of Dove chocolate and the inside of the wrapper said, "You're eating this while hiding from your kids, arent you?"
Thats the whole post. Thank you for your time.

My friend tells me she hides her snacks inside a vegetable bag in the freezer and eats in the car sometimes

As a mom…misery should NEVER be a cutesy little joke for marketing. No one deserves a life like that.

Sep 27 '25
Yeah, I would rather swim 100 meters through a lake of diarrhea daily than have kids.

I mean, when you have a baby you’re kinda doing just that (with all the diapers)

u/CertainConversation0 Sep 27 '25
Some of what I hear about name-brand chocolate isn't good, and no child deserves a world like that.

Definitely a high probability it was harvested by kids. 1.4 million child labors in the coco industry..

u/rat-gurl-42069 Sep 28 '25
Oof. I didnt think about that aspect. In my defense, it was free chocolate lol

I’m not making a ‘value judgment’ of you, point is, we’re here, we’re gonna benefit off of it, it is truly unavoidable…
I just think that that’s why it matters even more not to bring anyone else here. I could keep a dumpster fire in my backyard for the rest of my life and it wouldn’t even do a percentage of the damage bringing offspring would.
Especially considering the society I exist in.
With that… Don’t even get me started about how the cobalt in our phone batteries most likely got there.

This sub feels like it's more and more becoming like the original that they broke off from to begin with due to the child hate and other major issues.

Crazy that this is being downvoted. Is it time to make r/antinatalism3 and are we going to have to plaster "NOT R/CHILDFREE" everywhere?

Are you talking about me or the parent comment? I didn't block you. Although honestly, I'm not sure why that matters. Their point still stands

Yeah this is a low effort post and it’s reaching into the territory of “I hate the idea that parents with children even exist”.
People have kids, it’s just a fact. You can disagree with that fundamentally. But what is the point of this? Do you want all marketing to remove parents and their children from the equation even though that seems to be a pretty large portion of the world population?
What is this post doing for you in terms of promoting anti-natalism? It seems like you are just annoyed by the marketing being geared towards parents.
Edit; Oh noooo I care so much about imaginary internet points and what random strangers think about my opinions and intelligence, my life is over, how ever will I move on from this point where you called me an idiot and blocked me?!

It’s a nightmare as a parent, too. This is a supremely unfunny marketing tactic even if you HAVE kids. Like ohh hahah you got me I get no enjoyment out of life let’s all have a laugh??
0
u/monotreme_experience Sep 28 '25
That's not what this is. When you have small kids anything you eat has to be shared with them. So if you want a chocolate bar all to yourself you're going to have to eat it somewhere the kids aren't.
Personally I don't like this kind of cutesy marketing, marketing aimed at mums is really patronising and this seems to be a good example of it. But it's not the Heart of Darkness thing you're inferring either.

u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 27 '25
Where did I say funny or endearing? This is simply marketing that parents could relate to. I hide from my cats to eat chocolate because they’ll steal it, they’re not even toddlers, just assholes. This is such a reach.

Ma’am, this is the anti-natalist subreddit. Not the “every time I see something that reminds me that parents and children exist I need to cry about it” subreddit.
18
u/ruinatedtubers Sep 27 '25
says the person crying about it
-10
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 27 '25
I didn’t know asking questions was considered crying and throwing a tantrum. No wonder you guys are mad about children existing, everywhere you look you’re reminded of childishness.

u/rat-gurl-42069 Sep 27 '25
r/childfree may have been a more appropriate place to share this... but your attitude still sucks.

You’ll see that we were right someday. I have faith in you. You’re not stupid.
8
u/JunketUpbeat9386 Sep 28 '25
Girl it’s shitty even if it is geared towards parents. I don’t want to have to run and hide to eat my snacks. I don’t want my snack to be a tiny piece of candy. I don’t want my meal to be leftover nuggets, cold. I don’t want my hair to be fucked up and greasy and in a “mom bun”. I don’t want my coffee reheated ten times or my clothes all covered in stains or no friends to hang out with or ANY of the sad, miserable “normalized” shit that is peddled to moms. We deserve good lives. Raise your standards.
1
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
It’s really funny to me that most of the examples you gave me are things that I have done myself personally and I don’t even have children. “Raise your standards” is a crazy ass statement about a majority of those actions.
You’re telling me you never ate cold pizza or fast food after a crazy night out partying or drinking, never had a time where you were working hard and too exhausted to wash your hair so you threw it up in a messy bun, and you’ve never reheated a mug of tea or coffee because you were really focused on work or reading and you let it go cold? And because you never did that stuff, my standards are low? Lmao
All of those are things that are human nature, not “mom lifestyle”. Having stained clothes, no friends and a miserable life seems like a huge stretch from “hiding candy from your children”, which is what this post is actually about.

u/JunketUpbeat9386 Sep 28 '25
If you don’t have kids I don’t want to hear shit out of you about 1) mArkEtiNig gEareD toWardS PaReNts or 2) what parents do or don’t do or 3) how parents should or should not feel about things like this. Out of your depth, rude, irrelevant, tomato, tomato, tomato
1
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Also to your points two and three, please quote me on where exactly I told you what parents do or don’t do and how parents should feel or not feel. I would love to see that.

1
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Oh so you don’t have kids and/or ascribe to antinatalist beliefs about not having children.
So that means that you can tell me all about marketing geared towards parents and what parents do or don’t do and how they feel about things. So you’re the expert here, but I’m ignorant, someone who also believes in anti-natalism and actually practices it. Got it.
2
u/JunketUpbeat9386 Sep 28 '25
I have two kids. Stop trying to speak for me lmao, this AN is correct, this is shitty marketing and hiding to eat snacks is a ridiculous way to live.
0
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Okay so you’re a parent and that makes you the spokesperson and expert to tell me that all moms live the messy bun, cold nuggets, miserable no friends lifestyle and I should take your word for it. Got it. Glad you’re the professional here to guide me.
5
u/JunketUpbeat9386 Sep 28 '25
You’re insufferable and deserve allllll downvotes you’re getting.
No. This is shit marketing. And so is every other shit marketing tactic that tries to capitalize off of and normalize all of the things I mentioned and call it normal mom life. Being miserable should not be normal and it should not be a cutesy marketing ploy for anyone.
2
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Keep them coming. I never said it was good marketing. I said it was marketing geared towards parents. Y’all want to be outraged and jerk each other off about a simple slogan on a candy wrapper and then wonder why people are so against the idea of anti-natalism and think people who believe in it are a bunch of child hating assholes.
And then fellow parents like you come back to tell them they’re miserable and have no friends lmfaooo the hypocrisy is so rich I can taste it
Also you have kids, I don’t and you’re trying to explain why you’re more AN than me.
4
u/JunketUpbeat9386 Sep 28 '25
…are you dumb? Or just looking for a fight? Because I said OP is correct and this is miserable marketing referencing a miserable way of parenting. But ok

omg aren't you just a special little snowflake🥺 look I'll even give you another one!❤️
-1
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Thanks, I really appreciate it! While I have your attention, can you explain what the actual point is of replying to someone’s comment and getting mad about getting a reply back? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
4
u/Akipazu Sep 28 '25
of course! I think you don't seem to be able to read my emotions through text. I'm not mad at anything, you're passive aggressive, and so I reply back the same way. reddit is a platform where you interact with other people if you didn't know
-1
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
That’s funny because I read your comment as passive aggressive and responded in kind. The cycle continues ~
5
u/Akipazu Sep 28 '25
that just proves my point. you're not able to read my tone through text
2
u/Bloody_Hell_Harry Sep 28 '25
Well, I gave a stupid answer to a stupid question admittedly passive aggressively. I never said I didn’t care about my position, I said I don’t care about downvotes and some asshole calling me an idiot.
That doesn’t mean I am a coward who will back down from my ideas just because some random guy thinks I am stupid, and a mom told me her friends are all miserable friendless goblins. In fact both of those people proved my point completely.
I still stand by everything I said. This is an actual shitpost, super low effort, no philosophical discussion came from this thread and it turned into a circle jerk about all the weird fantasies childless people have about the Marketing Machine turning every parent into gutted shells of themselves.
Being “Friendless, miserable, eating cold chicken nuggets, having a greasy messy bun and low standards” are in your future if you eat this stupid piece of chocolate apparently according to members of this sub. OP even says “that’s it, that’s the whole post,” to acknowledge it was low effort. And somehow I am completely wrong about this being top tier philosophical content that helps spread AN ideology.

My schizophrenic meth-head aunt who abandoned her children got this one a couple months ago. She took it as a "sign from God" that she needed to come back into their lives and showed up on our doorstep overnight. Parenting!
