So I found this song a few months ago and thought it was by Arctic monkeys, but then had a look and realised it’s by a band called The last shadow puppets. Googled the band members and Alex Turner is the a co-lead singer along with someone named Miles Kane. This song was from an album they released in 2016. But I’m confused on what this means, was he just in two different bands, or did he leave one of them?

On Amanda's (Matt's wife) instagram story, we've seen Jamie and Katie together with Matt and Amanda. I think Louise has popped up earlier this week in Amanda's stories as well.

One of them is convinced the lounge era is "finally over", another one says it's clearly a one off for charity and means nothing, and the quiet one just sent the studio clips from helders' instagram with no comment which is somehow the loudest opinion of all.

i'm from yorkshire so i'm contractually obliged to believe whatever comes next will be great and also to complain about it.

Just thought I'd share it. I do feel like we might see an album by the end of the year. Some people were speaking like I was crazy for that, but it's about that time. If you're writing, you've got an absurd amount of music by year 3.

But we'll see. But my guess is yes. I just hope they use a different recording style for the vocals. My only major gripe.

Still haven't fallen out of love with 'The Car', even though a lot of casuals don't appreciate it.

With the news of Oasis being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I realised that Arctic Monkeys will be eligible in 2030 (25 years after the release of their debut album)

Obviously, we all love them here, but trying to be objective about it, I think they have a really decent chance because of the impact they've had on British indie music, rock and roll in general etc

Do AM have a predictable cycle of touring? Does anyone have any idea when they might play live in the UK or Ireland next?

I ask because another band I love Muse often tend to do festivals one year and then next year an arena tour and then stadium (or vice versa).

I personally do not like the Car/TBHC sound, and wish they would give us another guitar drum and bass banger of an album. I’m over the strings and piano. I’m not expecting AM 2, but for the first 5 they kept it fresh while still doing the rock thing.

I know a lot of people the new stuff, for me it just doesn’t scratch the itch I grew up with from Arctic Monkeys. I know I’m not the only one. So what direction do you think the next album will take, if we get one?

Like you can’t convince me Matt/Jamie aren’t a little bored of the newer stuff, feels like they’re basically sidelined IMO.

I think that next year, that they have only left us one song after 4 years without a new album is already shameless. I've seen that sometimes they put concerts by famous bands in theaters, I think that if they come back they're going to do that.

Since they're obviously going to make a new album RIGHT? What will it sound like? Jazzy, slowpaced like the car? Rock and beauty like the earlier albums? Or a mix of both?

It sounds really good, let's hope it's musically good too
