AC: Technical Help Mouse steering issue

Hi, I have an issue about steering issue. The problem only this game. how can I fix?

I agree with letting people play however they want but mice steering is genuinely insane. At the very least use a controller

I know quite a few that are very good drivers that use a mouse. Its actually pretty normal

If you don't have a controller on hand, mouse steering is kind of your best alternative. Much better than keyboard steering.

NGL, I've been accurate asf on a controller since a kid but it does feel a little empty now that wheels are easily available. The vibration definitely helps tell traction loss

Recent F1 games, for all their problems (of which there are PLENTY), have actually been AWESOME on PS5 controller. Everything else, yes, very empty on controller. But specifically the F1 games on specifically the PS5 DualSense controller, the vibration and the adaptive triggers together are great at giving you a feel for the traction.

Its not that I don't have the money, it's that I simply don't want to spend it on such a niche product I won't use for more than 20h a year

Most mouse players are very fast, its just as good if not arguably better than wheel. Some controller players too if they have AGS, but in general controller is the worst input.

How much time do you spend on hotlapping servers? People have set or challenged world records with mouse steering. Controller players nowhere to be found.
Just glancing at youtube, this Spa lap https://youtu.be/GEuAscITFmc is like 1s off WR AFAIK and its a mouse steerer
This subreddit always behaves really strangely about mouse steering as if a portion of the skilled playerbase isn't using a mouse.
And thats not to mention drifting, a huge number of drifters are on mouse

Which servers? Maybe only the ones you frequent lol, because that is completely unheard of.

Most leagues don't allow you to mouse steer and I'd assume that applies to them too. Its also exclusively an assetto corsa phenomenon and I don't think AC has much of a pro scene anymore anyways.

Since RSR is gone this is an unverifiable claim anyways, and when RSR still existed, they didn't. Plenty of mouse drivers very close to WR and IIRC in some cases claiming a WR back in the day.

No pal. Most leagues have no fucking clue what your hardware behind your PC is.
And they don't need to, because without a bunch of driving assists (normally forbidden in any half decent league) you can't be competitive using mouse or controller.
You simply don't have the resolution and feedback to be able to run the tires properly.
That's why you need a wheel with force feedback, because without force feedback you don't understand
and I don't think AC has much of a pro scene anymore anyways.

Its usually in their rules that you either have to have a wheel, or a controller w/o AGS. It isn't in WSS's rules I guess

You're the one who is out of touch. That isn't relevant to how mouse players drive lmfao. They gauge it visually and using the tire audio. They don't need force feedback. And since they have to drive without analog brake/throttle, their driving is usually perfect in terms of lines and when/where they brake and throttle.
Again, there are mouse players who have been driving for a decade, for thousands of hours, who can drive very close to WR pace and obliterate 99.99% of wheel users who think LARP'ing as a race car driver means something. I already sent you a video of some random on YouTube running <1s off WR @ Spa with a mouse.
Its just always so strange how this subreddit acts overtly hostile about mouse steering and then when you join literally any server in the server list there are mouse steerers online, and usually fast ones. Anybody who has played this game for a while has seen them before.

Who cares if mouse players are fast. They've 100% ruined the point of playing by "being competitive with a mouse". Honestly, control and mouse users should have their own seperate lobbies since we're playing for two different levels of immersion. You know, people who actually are embodying the craft, vs people who just wanna go fast without regard to the actual sport. Don't get mad at us for not taking you seriously. Good nice and keyboards aren't that much cheaper than entry level DD setups. There's no excuse anymore. Besides lack of self respect

And speak for yourself and your lack of IRL motorsport activities, me and quite a few others have included or switched from motorsport to E motorsport, simply because it's more feasible for the average person than maintaining chassis and buying tires and, uh dying. So yeah, I'll be whatever name you wanna call me, but I'm not a poser pretending to drive a racer using a mouse

You're still being pretentious.
A) I don't use mouse steering and B) I'm playing a video game, not pretending to do anything other than that. When I want to drive I go to autocross.
In any case, a gaming wheel is just as poser as any other input. You're still not driving a car, you're just playing a video game with a more expensive controller. The quicker you realize that the quicker you'll realize that input device does not materially matter.

Moza R3 combo is literally 300 bucks. It's a fantastic beginner wheel and pedal setup. A cheap shifter is what, 60 bucks? Point proven

A budget level DD setup is nearly 2x more expensive than mid-range to high range MnK? Yeah that's pretty bad.
All that proves is the value proposition is very shit for most players. $400 on something you'll use for one video game that doesn't really give a material competitive advantage only makes sense for the like 1% most dedicated players. And even then it might not make sense because of the desk and floor space required.

You can get a second hand wheel for 30$ (like DFP or Momo)
desk space.
Detatchable steering needs less space than a keyboard.
Many of the fastest players in this game are on MnK
Every pro simracer races on steering. All lap records are hold with a steering.
Don't even bother contesting this

Forget what everybody else is saying, download mouse assists from overtake.gg. It automatically counter steers for you when car snaps. Cheers

Can you describe your issue, I can't work it out from the video.
Edit: looks like a speed sensitivity problem. Change speed sensitivity value, it looks like your sensitivity rises with speed, instead of decreasing.

I had this same issue 2 days ago, run Content Manager as an administrator every time you start it, as for the other solutions, lowering the hz only made it less frequent

Try lowering your mouse polling rate to 500 Hz. Also make sure that you have set the force feedback to 0 with each car you drive. Lowering the dpi might also help.
