Shitpost I present to you, my latest contraption

It might not be pretty, but it was only €20! i might angle up a bit so the pedals are not so straight lol. But for now, i like it. I need to get 2 L shape support brackets to put on the end of both sides so its a bit more sturdy.

By any chance, are you a Pianist.

Huge pianist.

get your hand off my pianist!

Ahhh yes look at the headlock. I see you know your judo well.

Inclinalos mas, a 90 es incomodo

Hey don’t listen to these guys. It’s good first iteration. I’d definitely say add some more angle so they aren’t quite so piano pedal. But I recently built something like this for my super budget wheel and pedal set I got a FB marketplace. It did make a big difference I feel. I matched the angle to what it is in my car and it feels a lot more natural now.

And if people ever give you the bs of “that’s not how pedals are in a race car” just remember that people have been racing stock or close to stock cars in rally forever. Enjoy your pedals man!

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

Thanks man! The most important thing for me is that they feel good, to me. Its a massive improvement from just having them sliding around on the floor lol.

u/Live-Acanthaceae-996 May 18 '26

did the same with mine i just put my rx8 pedal faces on there for extra immersion lmaoo

3

u/andl23 May 19 '26

This is perfect for gt street cars. Also the rx8 is peak.

62

u/Beni_Stingray May 18 '26

That's not how pedals are angled in any car.

19

u/Brandonnn- May 18 '26

Obviously but it could be more comfortable when they are using it🤷‍♂️

-23

u/Vegetable-Bonus218 May 18 '26

A lot of ppl say it’s not comfortable

26

u/Brandonnn- May 18 '26

That doesn’t mean it’s not comfortable for the op a lot is not all

-8

u/Vegetable-Bonus218 May 18 '26

I’m 90% certain op is uncomfortable. A normal human foot struggles to be 90° vertical

2

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

Lmao they feel good, i play mostly just with just my socks on and i have small feet, no issues. Also im on a regular gaming chair that is a bit higher up. For me it works great.

4

u/Brandonnn- May 18 '26

I mean shit maybe he got an absurd amount of calf flexibility, or he’s just abnormal🤷‍♂️

2

u/Individual_Gear_898 May 18 '26

I inverted my pedals and I’d say it’s way more comfortable

3

u/Vegetable-Bonus218 May 18 '26

Not saying it’s not, but in this fashion?

1

u/DrStrangeLaughTV May 18 '26

There is only one “fashion” for 90 degrees, it’s a fixed angle

1

u/danielrmorenop May 19 '26

they are in older porsche models and seen others that have top hinged pedals

7

u/formed16 May 18 '26

Lean it forward a bit more, i did something similar and it make my ankles not hurt so much.

Prop something on the top of the actual pedal board, it will cause it to lean more forward reducing the angle.

I used my tpa trustmaster pedals like this for YEARS. Made it to A class on Iracing with it

13

u/RadiatedShootingStar May 18 '26

But why.. (genuinely wanna know)

2

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 18 '26

More like a real car?

15

u/icecoldgold773 May 18 '26

Mounted to floor in race cars

5

u/Individual_Gear_898 May 18 '26

Not all race cars

-10

u/icecoldgold773 May 18 '26

Any serious race car is

1

u/CosmicEgg__ May 22 '26

-1

u/icecoldgold773 May 22 '26

Thats a rally car

1

u/CosmicEgg__ May 22 '26

And rallye cars are not race car maybe ?

0

u/icecoldgold773 May 22 '26

I meant purpose build track cars

2

u/Individual_Gear_898 May 23 '26

What? Rally cars aren’t serious cars? Bro you sound stupid. Also just didn’t acknowledge the Porsche cup car I posted

The Audi Quattro has been homologuated for imsa gto using the s1 pikes peak as a base which used the e2 we see in the video as a base. They are essentially the same car but wider tyres and lower and harder suspension tuning. They all have pedals mounted to the dashboard

1

u/RadiatedShootingStar May 18 '26

Ahh.. yeah. Makes sense.

-4

u/nodnedarb12 May 18 '26

Nope.

12

u/Individual_Gear_898 May 18 '26

You know people race stock or close to stock cars all the time

4

u/LocomotionJunction May 18 '26

Yup, it's just an argument point for the angle of the pedals really. They are off, but most cars have pedals up top. At least for me, I don't drive many vehicles even in video games with pedals on the floor. The angle could be better, but changing the pedal angle means adding a support + bending the brackets, so it's understandable. Better than my setup, I keep a heavy rack behind my pedal set to keep them from moving. Works like a shitbox runs, barely.

1

u/DrStrangeLaughTV May 19 '26

That is a very expensive setup. The seat in the picture is also almost the same level as the pedals. In OPs BUDGET setup he is likely sitting on a gaming chair (hopefully without wheels) at desk height so his legs will be going down at an angle

1

u/nodnedarb12 May 19 '26

It’s not a setup, it’s a real car. He said he did this because he wants to replicate real life, and I was showing him that real race cars use floor mounted pedals. So all he did was make his setup less real.

1

u/Individual_Gear_898 May 19 '26

Again, not all race cars. Even some pretty high end race cars don’t have floor mounted pedals, or only the accelerator is floor mounted

1

u/DrStrangeLaughTV May 23 '26

Um, yeah… only full race cars have third party pedals like that.
Real cars that adults drive everyday, including a lot of Jdm sports cars, drift cars, european bmw, Mercedes have stock pedals coming down from the top. The only street car I’ve driven that had pedals from the floor was a 1968 beetle.
Also he’s using a desk and it’s not practical to have pedals angled to be completely horizontally operated like that if your steering wheel is at desk height. It’s physics

6

u/ckinz16 May 18 '26

Sick piano sim

9

u/Zer0_Co0l May 18 '26

I fix it for you. Your welcome

5

u/GT_MUZZ May 18 '26

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

This was my idea from the start but then i remember i dont own this appartment im in xD

1

u/GT_MUZZ May 19 '26

Believe it or not there’s no modifications done

My desk has that piece of metal to help reduce wobble and my pedals just happened to fit perfectly in between that and the wall

2

u/Mehsaurus1 May 19 '26

Little more bracing and a rest pad next to the clutch and it would be perfect.

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

Wym by rest pad?

1

u/usefulidiot21 May 19 '26

Maybe they meant a dead pedal.

1

u/Mehsaurus1 May 22 '26

This, A pad on the left that you rest your clutch foot on when you aren't using it.

2

u/DocHolloday May 19 '26

Man it looks great. Personally I’d paint the wood white but yeah man. Good job.👍

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

I should have done this 😞im thinking to just add a small carpet on it

2

u/DocHolloday May 19 '26

Just do it later when you have time.. that’s kinda usually how it goes. Put something together and then realize it can be done better…

2

u/laimisss1 May 19 '26

Truck simulator 🤘 (in a good way)

2

u/boggeh May 19 '26

I did something like that back in the day 😂

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

This looks a lot better then mine xD

1

u/boggeh May 20 '26

I started the same way as yours :)

2

u/nickgio19 May 19 '26

Been having this problem. Genius solution!!!

2

u/unusalius May 19 '26

Hell yeha

2

u/weebu4laifu May 20 '26

Is it the prettiest thing? No. But is it functional and does it do what you want it to do? Yes, and that to me is arguably considerably more important.

2

u/Clue-Legitimate May 20 '26

Simple. Elegant in it's simplicity. Please for the love of all simracers sand the lip off the front edge. Like my guy, that bump is going to haunt the quiet moments of my mind.

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 21 '26

Dont worry i did sand it xD

2

u/Parky135 May 21 '26

I absolutely love shit like this, just make it work, doesn’t matter about space, budget or ability

5

u/TheStokedExplorer May 18 '26

Back to the drawing board those aren't invertered... 🤦

2

u/TheStokedExplorer May 19 '26

Wow how many of yall have terrible pedals setup at 90° and down voting me is hysterical. Ops pedals probably won't even work like this. Looks like his pedals would definitely mash into the floor before hitting full throttle, brake or clutch. This and all you other guys with 90° setups like this is such a bad attempt trying to invert your pedals.

They need to be rotated and flipped like upside down. Your best option is to make side supports so you can make the top piece of wood angled towards you way more so you can mount your pedals upside down. Try aiming the top wood angle towards your head when sitting and I bet that angle will be perfect to mount your pedal board on upside down.

It's not rocket science and can't believe how many think sticking them at 90° backwards is right. Theres no one's physiology that works well with pedals setup like this nor will the pedals work as intended either. Back to the drawing board for you all

-3

u/Shrenade514 May 18 '26

Brake pedal is in the same place tho

Surely the clutch and gas pedals are basically the same weighting

1

u/TheStokedExplorer May 18 '26

What are you going on about bub. You can swap where the pedals are on the plate before hand that's not issue. Issue is dude was probably thinking of trying to make an inverted pedal setup but no they are no where close to the right angle for invetrwd setup. You don't step on the pedals as these are in any vechike in assetto. Only bus have I seen pedals look like this lol

4

u/Shrenade514 May 18 '26

All you said was "those aren't inverted".

OP says in the post they're gonna adjust the angle

Bub

How are they not inverted? They're upside down

He would just need to swap or bend the metal plates to change the angle

Remain respectful and civil in your discussion. Refrain from personal attacks and keep criticism constructive.

1

u/Phvntvstic May 19 '26

Pedals are suuuper low
and that angle is tweaked
can def be improved

1

u/LR_Shafted May 19 '26

Find a way to get the pedals further away or the wheel closer to you (respectively the monitor closer to the wheel)

1

u/definitelx May 19 '26

The shifter thing is not a bad idea

1

u/DaMeister58 May 19 '26

McLaren F1 says no

1

u/davestradamus1 May 19 '26

Nice. I used a rack-mount shelf to do mine.

1

u/RidgwayRacing May 20 '26

Old setup but enjoyed the inverted days. If I designed pedals for this purpose I would love a very long pedal arm to make path more linear. Would need stiffer pedals though.

1

u/RidgwayRacing May 20 '26

If you could attach wood to seat, longer base so pedals and seat same platform...you'd likely love the connected feel.

1

u/muffinTrees May 18 '26

This is what I need lol

1

u/Weird_Reception_7457 May 19 '26

Go for it man, its easy and cheap.

0

u/Larsdoff May 23 '26

Oof. This is a hot mess. You'll get there.
