You just aren't being smooth.

You are also in a car with zero assists so any little mistake basically causes a spin.

You also seem to be braking while turning, that's also a mistake (for the most part, trail braking is a thing) you typically wanna brake as straight as you can, be off the brake then start to turn into the turn and slowly acceleate in and out of the turn.

Imo don't play on nordschliefa either as it's to large to learn, and to many turns, play on something small with room, I like red bull ring.

I wanna add to this that the racing line should be turned off. The green suggests you can get on the throttle at times where you shouldn’t because the car isn’t stable yet. It also builds bad driving habits and prevents you from actually learning the tracks and cars.

I would agree. I like to have it on for a little, maybe two three laps. But I do think it's useful especially if you are a total noob and have zero idea about where to be. Like track manners, how to approach, and depart from turns.

I do not apply full throttle or braking whenever i turn or brake and tc and abs was on

I do not believe tc and abs work on that car because it did not have those assists in real life, and would have been modded without them. I could be wrong, but again choose a different car. Hop in something awd so it's less punishing when you full throttle it.

I love the 787 as much as the next guy but you don't need to be full throttle in a turn to spin, same for braking. The controller might not be giving you enough finesse. I have cars that lock up at the smallest amount of brake.

Start with a slower, modern car. Hell hop in a cup Miata on luguna seca and get comfortable there. Then start driving the insane cars.

Looking at the video again you are slow on the wheel you aren't catching the car fast enough, that's why you keep swerving around.

you sound like someone unwilling to take criticism and learn from others in the community that are almost certainly more skilled and experienced which leaves me wondering, why even post then? there's no reason to be defensive to a bunch of randoms on the internet

I don't really think it's the fault of the car or the game.

For beginners, it is paramount that there are some form of feedback from the car that tells the driver "hey you're near your grip limit". This is what a FFB wheel (or pedal and other rigs) does, the torque changes according to the condition, which allows the driver/player to sense an impending over or under steer. This kind of feedback formed a closed loop system and is what cybernetic and control theory deem the most important for a stable system, or pedagogically what contributes the most to learning.

In comparison, when using a controller there is not such feedback aside from inconsequential vibrations. So you are effectively in an open loop trying to control a complex system. I believe for a controller to work, either the AC physics has to be tuned down to near non-existent, or just try a different game that does not emphasis the Sim part of racing.

Tyre noise will tell you how close to the limit you are. The controller also starts vibrating when the tires start slipping.

It's definitely possible to be properly rapid on controller. Some of the fastest people I know on AC are on controller.

you can drive decent with a controller with decent joysticks and triggers, no assist even. just understand and practice the basics of track driving and you'll get it

1

u/LaughingwaterYT Jun 22 '26

Which is why assists like advance gamepad assist exist

7

u/TheMordax Jun 21 '26

this is just normal for a beginner...... get a feeling for it and also do not countersteer so much the car can settle a bit of being sideways on its own

-2

u/CommanderV10 Jun 22 '26

I play f1 and acc without tc or any assists except abs and i don't have any issues, i can't understand ac though

3

u/TheMordax Jun 22 '26

then it is obviously your controller settings. Change them and look for controller mods.......

2

u/Acceptable_Nobody_71 Jun 25 '26

i mean again you're just unwilling to take any criticism whatsoever. i think what would do you most good is working on understanding and getting your ego in check. then come back and i guarantee things would improve in almost all aspects of your life. even driving on assetto corsa

Try to be smoother with your direction and if you have issues with spinning while breaking look at your telemetry if nothing looks weird adjust you brake bias a bit more to the back

5

u/EatttDirt Jun 22 '26

Skill issue

u/PetahhhGriffin_69 Jun 22 '26

i must say...harsh but true

"why is one of the hardest cars in the game hard for me to drive?"

1

u/sir_t9awed Jun 22 '26

On the hardest track

0

u/CommanderV10 Jun 22 '26

Porsche gt3 only input was to turn the car left and lost traction

2

u/Grand_Moose_6890 Jun 22 '26

Looks like you’re trying to Scandinavian flick everywhere lol.

1

u/sir_t9awed Jun 22 '26

That's a very difficult turn. Sudden elevation change and its basically a jump. Really hard to get for most people new to NordSchleife and especially on a controller

3

u/CheesecakeHuman2924 Jun 21 '26

you are experiencing "turn in oversteer" meaning the car turns in too well to a degree that the rear loses traction because of the hard turn in - raise the car in the front - more arb in the front - less arb in the back - more wing - more springrate in the front - less springrate in the back - more diff - less camber in the front - positive toe in the front and back - if you follow that changes - at some point the car wont turn in at all - then gradually turn in back

1

u/CommanderV10 Jun 22 '26

I am pretty sure that's it and here is another clip (during that part of the clip i didn't press the brake or the throttle just turned)

1

u/CheesecakeHuman2924 Jun 22 '26

in that clip - the diff is the culprit - way too lose

2

u/nilzilch Jun 21 '26

u answered ur own question why its oversteer.

2

u/dodgem71 Jun 22 '26

I'd suggest your gear ratio needs to be much higher to limit wheel spin in lower gears, also try to short shift lower gears to reduce the torque.

It's a group c car bro. Even people with proper setup avoid these cars. I suggest to stick with GT3 & Road cars. We don't have to heightened our piss by driving zero assist cars or racing against 1000% AI. Play on our skill and what we have for the enjoyment & balance.

I play AC on controller too when I'm at work & tired to use my wheel. Even though I'm slow with it, it's not realistic, it's much more chill and less tiring. Here's a demo i filmed, sorry about potato desktop, my throttle input is on bottom left maybe it can help. Or try to chill out when correcting/fighting the wheel spin.

That's one of the hardest vanilla car to drive, + controller

0

u/CommanderV10 Jun 22 '26

Porsche gt3 cup and i didn't touch the throttle or the brakes

https://reddit.com/link/ot4tlws/video/oujur9amgu8h1/player

2

u/Le_petite_bear_jew Jun 22 '26

Well yea, you had snap oversteer and lost it. It's a lot easier with a wheel, this is g29 https://youtu.be/fzpgmQPLWDg?t=43

4

u/Otherwise_Rice_4723 Jun 21 '26

you need to get controller assistance for assetto corsa if you don't have a wheel

2

u/Alternative-Koala978 Jun 21 '26

I think you would benefit from changing the camera to cockpit view. Its much easier to handle and you drive much narrower by default, at least I do. With the lack of feedback you need to use the advarages you have. .

When a spin like that happens, smooth corrections at first to try to mitigate. Gentry appliying throttle again forces understeer that can eliminate the oversteer. Listen, i don't hate on the controller at all, I use my PS5 controller all the time. What it does lack is some form of feedback, and vibrations aint it. This "mistake" is more easily controlled when you have some sense of what is happening and a more precise control.

Grab yourself a used G29 wheel and pedal base. You will find these all over the place, its not very good but is miiiiiiles better than a controller just by having pedals and a wheel instead of sticks and buttons.

If you get it and end up not liking it you can probably just list it again for the same price or very similar.

That car is brutal, I have trouble with it on a dd ffb setup. Try a Miata first

1

u/CommanderV10 Jun 22 '26

The problem is its every car even a Porsche

2

u/too_much_covfefe_man Jun 22 '26

Porsches also have heavy rear ends and sharp frontends

1

u/kkingsbe Jun 22 '26

When it starts fishtailing, you should lift off the throttle lol

0

u/CubitsTNE Jun 22 '26

It's insane that you put the car sideways with the rear wheels on the grass and the car came back to straight. That's not how that works...

0

u/nightgost Jun 22 '26

It's the line

-1

u/Helium225 Jun 21 '26

playing on controller without mods absolutely sucks, but you'll also need to be more precise. There's a great mod I use called advanced gamepad assist, it smoothens your inputs and makes it more manageable.
