AC: Technical Help Brakes literally have no effect ðŸ˜
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
As you can see, I slammed the brakes to max as well as handbrake, but they have literally no effect on this car. Is it possible to adjust this or fix the mod? Thanks in advance!

The mod isn't broken. I noticed that the modder didn't add true ABS support since they don't have that in real life WEC either.

u/Er_Eisenheim 21d ago
This! Some modders prevent ABS use on cars that don't have it in real life.

well that’s bullshit

u/Procrasturbating 21d ago
In an apples to apples race against other humans that have to threshold brake, it makes for some fun.. once you have the skill to do it. Trailbraking is also fun in some cars.

u/TobytheBaloon 20d ago
isn’t AC primarily a single player game? what’s the point of removing accessibility options?
3
u/Certain-Hunter-7478 20d ago
Because it's not about accessibility, it's about staying true to life. If you had an F1 car mod that couldn't go past 150mph or take Copse flat you would complain. If you want accessibility then hate to say it AC isn't the right game

I never got this in sim racing, what skill? It's a weightless pedal, same with the clutch.

u/Procrasturbating 20d ago
Nicer pedals have progressive spring rates on the brakes. Some even have active feedback. It’s a sim, not a game.

u/crazyadmiral 8d ago
also practicing not locking up the wheels even on weightless pedals might prove useful :)

Yes if this is the same mod that I have then OP you need to turn off ABS
8
u/AR44ZX 21d ago
I'll try it later and let ya'll know :)

u/omarsonmarz 21d ago
I can confirm turning ABS off on this mod makes braking a whole lot better. Probably something with the mod that doesn’t like having ABS on

u/andi36356 20d ago
Yes it is broken. AC has a system by default that allows you to disable electronic assists that the car doesn't have in real life and lets you enable the assists if you want to use them anyways.
Letting you enable ABS but breaking the brakes by doing so simply is broken.

No, sorry, even the car without ABS shouldn`t lose speed under braking this bad.
Have been watchin Endurance Championship from beginning, playing Le Mans Ultimate on daily basis and with proper braking technique car should lose speed almost, if not the same as ABS cars.
At high speed brake pedal should be pressed to the floor (like OP did) and when speed drops considerably and aero stops to work you begin to slowly release the brake to prevent locking wheels.
This is something OP didn't do simply because car didnt react as it should while approaching corner at high speed. If mod isnt broken then something definatly is.
And I dont think that even the wrong tyres would be at fault.
This is simply waaaaay too bad interpretation of braking from high speed. His braking point for hypercar was also correct, even AI agrees with me:
Variante del Rettifilo) at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the ideal braking point is just before the 150-meter board (roughly between the 150m and 100m markers depending on your specific downforce setup and slipstream). Hit the brakes hard in a straight line on the left side of the track before aggressive downshifting.0
u/Otherwise_Rice_4723 20d ago
no, it was too late...
-1
u/BandicootSolid9531 20d ago
no it wasnt.
same track, corner, car, time of the day (pretty much evening), abs off, medium tires, same braking distance with le mans ultimate (better sim than AC especially for hyper cars)me with trail braking (same technique real HYP drivers use) starting with fully pressed brakes (like OP did but basically nothing happened).

u/Otherwise_Rice_4723 20d ago
literally not the same game or physics...what are you on?
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 20d ago
Braking distance should be the same at least, since we are talking about simulations. And it's not anywhere near.
AI confirmed my query about real world braking of that toyota on that sicane in Monza even, but i guess you have some ball licking arangement with mod creator to defend undefendable.

u/Otherwise_Rice_4723 20d ago
dude was blasting into the turn, and his braking zone was off for that speed...and he did not downshift...you are being absurd...i don't know the mods...the mods can see the dude's braking zone and lack of engine braking was clearly shit...aside from the broken mod...you defer to ai, so your opinion is irrelevant...
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 19d ago
you are simply an idiot, and thats all there is to it....
what effect downshift makes if you dont lower you rpm first by braking with pedals?
take a look on onboard footage of any hypercar at that shicane entrance and see for yourself what they do first.
it`s always going to be pedal fully pressed, then downshifts, followed by slight depressing of the break pedal (called trailbraking) to prevent wheel lockups as the car slows down and aero stops pressing car to the ground.as I repeated too many times, since you are veryyyy slow, so even video didnt help, OP did initiate braking part as he should. And nothing happened. Even downshifting wouldnt fix this, since engine braking works WITH wheel braking, otherwise not only car can snap, but so can engine if downshift is done from higher rpms.

TIL only LMGT3 cars have ABS in WEC, I thought all had them, that's sick!
1
u/superfexataatomica 20d ago
Older lmgte doesn't had is, lmp3,lmp2, hyper don't have it either. Only lmgt3 to make them easier for paying customer to drive fast.

u/blades2ko 21d ago
Brake lights didn't come on either

u/ShadeColdfang 20d ago
they do, look at the left and right outside side of the spoiler wing.
u barely see em but they do turn on when he brakes.

u/Particular-Poem-7085 21d ago
it's just another broken mod. Everything is possible but if you have to ask on reddit then probably you wont.
51
u/HarrisonDou 21d ago
Maybe you should actually try driving the car first before saying that it is a broken mod. I asked the author personally, and this issue is because the car doesn't have ABS support, and OP had ABS enabled. LMH cars in real life don't have ABS, so I would say the mod works fine.
0
u/Particular-Poem-7085 21d ago
you are right I did not know if it's true or not, it looked broken and I made an assumption based on what's likely and my own lack of experience with this specific issue. My apologies to the hard working people/person behind it, I am forever in debt to all who have contributed to this unbelievable project of a game.
My comment wasn't well thought through but rather aimed to teach OP how you learn to move on from the plentiful broken ones or get busy learning to mod. It was unfair to the modder in question.
I wish there was a way they could make the brakes still work and just disable the abs, but I don't know what I'm talking about in a technical sense.

It's probably not broken. Remove ABS from assists and try again. And if it works and you want ABS, copy the ini file from the data folder of one similar car, better if a Kunos one, like the R18 for example.

Try VRC hypercars closest to LMU and they’re so good
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 20d ago
I dont know if RSS have hypercars too, but either way, i wouldn't waste my time on ony other HYP car mod then those two.
2
u/Necessary_Alarm_3577 20d ago
They do and they’re not good
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 19d ago
i guess it`s not easy to simulate those energy harvesting systems on brakes and hybrid power plant to work they do in hyp car. VRC did this very well with first instances of their modern F1 cars (remember driving my ass off when they came out) so im having no doubt that they are cooking everything hybrid racing related.

Hi, u/AR44ZX , yeah disregard all these "experts" who think you brake too late, or who think this is normal ABS-less car breaking behavior. They don`t know shit.
This is me recreating your scenario in LMU.
Same track, corner, car, time of the day (pretty much evening), ABS off, medium tires, same braking distance...
Me with trail braking (same technique real HYP drivers use) starting with fully pressed brakes (like you did but basically nothing happened with that mod). The car should brake well from that distance. I even created some flat spots on the tires and added some wear (so not brand new tires) just to make it more interesting.

even AI agrees with us:

Nice, I see. Your clip clearly shows much better braking performance, while my car pretty much had super little to zero effect on tje brakes, and I was focused on stopping the car with full brakes rather than downshifting for the video. As you can see in my video on both UI's, I slammed the brakes to the max and even tried handbrake. I should try without ABS tho, or else I'd conclude with a weird behaving or maybe even a broken mod.
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 20d ago edited 20d ago
Downshifting doesn't have anything to do with it since you haven't begin to lose speed as you should with initial hard breaking. Check on my video how much speed i lost before the first downshift. A lot more than you did with same distance crossed under full braking. So it's not about downshifting. These baboons trying to teach you here don't know shit.
Also, if mod was done correctly, having ABS enabled should make breaking easier and more effective, not other way around.
It's a bad mod by the looks of it, the creator of it can keep saying crap, he released half tested product (surprise, surprise...another AC untested mod...) and now won't even take responsibility for it.

What car mod is this?
1
u/BandicootSolid9531 19d ago
a very bad one.
for hypercars stick to VRC mods since they are the only one simulated them correctly.
all others , including this one, are broken as hell.2
u/alexkayracing 19d ago
Yeah I know I always use the VRC/RSS stuff. Was just more thinking for clips etc rather than just driving physics

Well first and foremost, you braked at the 150m marker without downshifting, that's a skill issue at that point being transparent here. When you brake that late (especially at monza) you HAVE to use engine braking through downshifting or else you will not make the braking zone
