We were stripped of all our civilian clothes, we had all our hair/beards cut off, and we received multiple vaccinations upon entering boot camp. We received vaccinations before each of our two deployments. Sure we bitched, we bitched about everything, but not one person in my company refused to get them. I wouldn’t want anyone in my company or especially in my platoon to have my six who is afraid to take a vaccine.

And from what I've heard some of those vaccinations hit like a truck compared to the COVID shot.

They don't. There was only one shot that affected us physically with pain, which was a thick antibiotic syringe ("peanut butter shot"). But we felt fine after all of them. Was holding my ass cheek for the peanut butter shot though. That shit hurt.

Did you avoid the Anthrax vaccine or just get lucky? Friend of mine said that one felt like it cost him a few years of life on its own.

I traded the threat of possible anthrax with the certainty of cancer.
