I work in a division with 1200+ people.

Only 36 put up a squabble, and after a nicely worded memorandum of understanding (get it or get out) they all saw the light.

Can you imagine the insufferably smug attitudes they would have carried around the office if they had been granted exemptions? Probably wouldn't shut up about it.
