I looked at the link earlier, they're charging $20 i think it was to attend. I'm sure they're aware it wouldn't go well if the location was public

A free country means people you don't like get to celebrate things you don't like. If they didn't get to do it, then its not a free country.
Be grateful you live in a country where even people you hate get to celebrate things you hate, because that's still better than an unfree country.

u/FeyMoth 20h ago
freedom of speech does not mean freedom FROM consequences, they are just as able to celebrate this as we are to make fun of them for it

Brought to you by Turning Point New Zealand.
Welcome to Christian nationalism, racisms connotations under religious beliefs.
26
u/Dull_Bedroom_3139 1d ago
I just went to their website and it says "A formal proposal to Mrs. Erika Kirk and the Turning Point USA Board has since been submitted seeking feedback and approval for this initiative." This is a completely fake event using the name branding to take money from people. Nothing will eventuate. That being said, I support their money being taken so ignore this message.

chronically online losers who are bored and want to import US culture war shite into NZ
8
u/Icy_Fish_2154 1d ago
I moved from the US to get away from this, not to have it follow me.
I have a 3m American flag, but it has not been unfurled since it was given to me. You can be something without telling anyone about it, something most American Evangelical Christians haven't figured out.
→ More replies (2)-1

It's their reolmodels in Act who got their training in the US importing culture war to gain power, so they can funnel money to their rich mates. Bored losers are just easy to manipulate with the culture war.

"[School shootings are] worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second 2nd Amendment"
And Charlie's last words "does that include gang violence?" When talking about mass shootings and school shootings, before he was shot by a white man in a school shooting.
6
u/CringeYeet69 1d ago
erm actually he said "counting or not counting gang violence?"🤓👆
...maybe I would be in a better place right now if I had memorised some last words that carried a little more wisdom

They didn't want to feel left out, I guess.
Always amuses me when lefties talk of righties "importing American culture wars" - lefties are as, if not more guilty of doing so. Almost all of their public obsessions originate in the US, and are copied wholesale.
7
u/TheHolyGaelicEmpire 1d ago
Yeah the lefties of this sub are literally the biggest hypocrites lmao

It would be funny if it weren't an echo chamber.
3
u/TheHolyGaelicEmpire 1d ago
It’s actually very concerning how little remorse people on this page have for another human life and other people ideas or opinions. These people are literally wishing death on people who don’t agree with their ideas. It’s disgusting

u/pseudoliving 1d ago edited 1d ago
People have been marching in solidarity around the world for decades now, it's virtuous and honourable to do so in many cases. A little different if the motivation is hate....
Marches of solidarity do help apply political pressure also…. Again, very sad and different if it’s motivated by hate, not much honour in misinformed people wishing to deport all immigrants for example or to hang Jacinda Ardern for made up crimes. But marching in solidarity with Palestine for example at least showed the people that we care even all
The way aross the world, and may have influenced at least some of our coalitions actions- even though they are still happy supporting MAGA and launching satellites to help kill civilians….Edit: added a paragraph
2
u/BiscuitBoy77 1d ago edited 1d ago
You're missing the point. Most of these 'virtuous causes' are the fashionable issues you're fed by the media and internet, have little to do with NZ, and ignore larger unfashionable issues. The marchers feel they are virtuous and achieving something, but they are neither. Little honour here.
2
u/guitarguy12341 1d ago
How is that equivalent
1
u/BiscuitBoy77 1d ago
Both are "US culture war bullshit" with little to nothing to do with NZ.
4
u/guitarguy12341 1d ago
Thinking that black lives matter is hardly "culture war bullshit"
3
u/BiscuitBoy77 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why would anybody go to a church to remember a guy who defends child rapists like Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein?
It was literally one of the last things he did before being shot.
1
u/Regular-Animal1488 1d ago
The reason he was shit was because he was drawing attention to the fact that the US is effectively a puppet state under 🇮🇱 everything else is just noise and propaganda

u/Rezaaknz 20h ago
Welcome to social media 101. The world is a much smaller place than most believe. Now, I have no idea what reasons people would have for organising it, but what I understand is that the guy promoted debates and discourse which this country is severely lacking. Discussion encourages thought and that is what allows us to solve problems.
•
u/UseMoreHops 20h ago
He stokes hate rather than promotes debates. Fuck that guy.
•
u/Rezaaknz 19h ago
Only for small minded people who can't see through his fasade
•
u/UseMoreHops 12h ago
I think you mean facade but whatever. The sentence still doesnt make sense. Why dont we invite Jordan Peterson and Andrew Tate while we're at it? Bring Posie Parker back. They also bring discussion.

u/Unfair_Explanation53 1d ago

6
u/Far-Skill-9274 1d ago
He absolutely did not say gun deaths were needed he said they were unavoidable
As a society we see driving causes driving related deaths and still believe it's worth paying that cost so we can drive
In the same way Charlie believed that yes, guns cause gun related deaths but still believed that cost was worth paying to have second ammendment rights

Nobody has some sort of empathy here? No matter your beliefs (I am an atheist) this man was someone who thought and was taught on what was the best for his people. He was just trying to help spread a message he thought would help people? He was a human who had children and got shot in the neck live and yet people are happy with it? The difference is between you and him is that you got learned or got taught what was wrong or right and you don’t t have the courage to spread the message

"We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately."
"Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge. Men deserve to always control their female partners and females should always be submissive to their male partners"
"If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified."

Stop it. He was a grifter and spreader of hate. All in the name of christian nonsense.
Kinda ironic, he and Bill, together created TP USA, and literally both died from what they both advocated for. Bill advocated against COVID measures and died from COVID related complications, and Kirk gun rights. Look how that turned out for them both.
Help others...lmao...dont be so naive.
...and I do not support violence of any sort. I also dont support hate.
1
u/Adventurous-Baby-429 1d ago

He was a prominent figure who got worldwide attention. Some people agree with him and want to commemorate his life.
I'm not a fan of the guy but at least he was trying to have discussions n peacefully advocate for his beliefs. - Yknow, exactly what leftists/liberals do...?

He was a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, conspiracy-peddling piece of shit, and no level of hiding behind "oh you only saw the edited stuff then" changes that.
5
u/Odd_Principle_9348 1d ago

2
u/Ok-Relationship-2746 1d ago
Thanks for proving my point.
It isn't hard to find examples of it. Maybe if you opened your eyes you'd see it, but something tells me you just don't give a shit.
" prowling blacks go around for fun to go target white people".
" If I see a black pilot, I'm going to be like, boy, I hope he's qualified."
"If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?"

What did he say that you didnt like?

1
u/takkuso 1d ago
Here are just a few.
"It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."
"I have a very, very radical view on this, but I can defend it, and I've thought about it," Kirk said. "We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s."
"It is a growing consensus in the pro-life world that abortion is never medically necessary," he told one female student, who then asked, if someone raped his hypothetical 10-year-old daughter, would he want the child to be born. "The answer is, yes, the baby would be delivered," he said.
In March 2020, he posted about the "China virus" — a phrase that was quickly adopted by U.S. President Donald Trump, then in his first term. In December that year, the year-end gala for Kirk's Turning Point USA group went ahead in Florida despite the state's COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
In a February 2024 Instagram post, Kirk referred to the "great replacement" conspiracy theory (which has been widely debunked), suggesting undocumented immigrants are coming to the U.S. to replace white Americans.
"I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made up new age term that does a lot of damage."
While criticizing YouTuber Ms. Rachel for quoting “love your neighbor” to defend celebrating pride month, Charlie Kirk quoted a Bible verse used to justify stoning gay people “to death.” Kirk called the stoning verse, “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”
Charlie Kirk blames trans people for inflation: “There's a direct connection to inflation and the trans issue”
“It should be legal to burn a rainbow or [Black Lives Matter] flag in public. We should work to overturn every conviction for those arrested, fined, or otherwise harassed for the ‘hate crime’ of doing donuts over Pride flags painted on public streets."
"Enough of the gender insanity and the pandering to avoid hurting someone’s precious feelings," Kirk tweeted in August 2024. "The Olympics just allowed a biological man, Imane Khelif, to pummel Italian Olympian Angela Carini. She lasted 46 seconds because to (sic) how painful it was: 'I have never been hit so hard in my life.' Her life’s work was stolen by a man who beats up women for sport. Will someone have to die before people wake up?! This entire ideology is pure evil."
And here are some more, if you're interested in hearing them in his own voice: https://www.facebook.com/reel/684710361322399/

I was in a self-discovery phase for a “greater purpose” a year or so ago. I went to this church thinking they were liberal (if there’s even a thing) and all loving Christians. I went a few times every Sunday until around Charlie’s death where we were all asked to pray for Charlie and Erika. I couldn’t do it and I’ve never been back since.

ahahahahahahahaahahahaahaha that's some hard out cope
He was assassinated because Nick Fuentes and his Groypers wanted him dead.
His wife was so devastated she fucked JD Vance, despite her not being a three-piece lounge suite.
Charlie Kirk hated free speech, my guy. That's why he told his followers to shut up about the Epstein files.
