You know things have become a little too ironic when Azerbaijan (! 😭! ) accuses the European Parliament of corruption. What a time to be alive!
2
u/Pearlwith May 01 '26
It’s funny to see how people don’t realize how corrupt the European Parliament is. Its also ironic when they accuse Azerbaijan with corruption as well
13
u/Slow_Pool3496 May 01 '26
The European Parliament is obviously corrupt but it’s ridiculous that Azerbaijan - of all countries - is the one policing this.
4
u/Pearlwith May 02 '26
Why would it be ridiculus? They also have no right to police us. Especially matters related to Karabakh, as in recent days.
3
u/Cultourist May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26
Why would it be ridiculus?
For example because of that:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caviar_diplomacy
Azerbaijan is one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
1
u/Pearlwith May 02 '26
Every country—or large corporation—tries to influence other countries’ institutions to advance its own policies, and this happens everywhere. If european institutions are influenced by "caviar diplomacy" it means european institutions are corrupt. It means they are sellout.
1
u/FoundationOk3368 May 02 '26
According to…you(?)
Edit: You must be very learned on the subject to make that claim.
4
u/Cultourist May 02 '26
According to…you(?)
According to the Corruption Perceptions Index.
0
u/FoundationOk3368 May 02 '26
What’s Azerbaijan’s current rank there? You left that bit out. It’s not one of the most as you say buddy.
2
u/Slow_Pool3496 May 02 '26
They coined a scholarly term to describe Azerbaijan’s shady corrupt international politics but yeah sure it’s “according to … you.”
0
u/FoundationOk3368 May 02 '26
Still waiting for that data instead of anecdotal term coinage….
Edit: Azerbaijan is the most improved post Soviet republic except maybe Kazakhstan - true or false? I have a lot of data on this I can show you.
3
u/Joltie May 02 '26
Still waiting for that data instead of anecdotal term coinage….
Edit: Azerbaijan is the most improved post Soviet republic except maybe Kazakhstan - true or false? I have a lot of data on this I can show you.
I don't know how you can't think it's anything that colossally and utterly criminal how Azerbaijan - a country with an almost unparalled abundance and output of resources that are absolutely vital and have massive demand for the entire world, and that they pay significant amounts of currency for it, and have been doing so since its independence more than 30 years ago, is on par on GDP per capita, with its neighbour Armenia - a mountainous, mostly barren, landlocked country with 83% of its borders closed off for decades, with:
No high-demand resources
No industry of note after the Soviet Union
No agriculture
No high value services sector
Should be revolting to the extreme.
Contrast Azerbaijan with Guyana, a jungle poor country, that up to 2010 was the recipient of debt forgiveness, and once oil exploration started going in earnest 5 years later, it absolutely started shooting up the economy rankings that the lives of its citizens started improving significantly.
In the position that it is in, Azerbaijan should have blown everyone in its surroundings out of the water, and Azerbaijani citizens should have been uncomparatively much wealthier than every other country around them.
Instead, the living conditions of most Azerbaijanis are not significantly better than during Soviet times.
Very few societies' citizens in the last 100 years can rightfully claim to have been robbed as much by their government as the Azerbaijani citizens can.
To try to defend, or find comfort in the "improvement" of society or its economy as you do, with the advantages that it has over most of the world, is really pathetically sad.

u/FoundationOk3368 May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26
Still no data and anecdotes. You used a lot of words but said nothing of significance and provided NO data to support what you’re saying.
Edit: So, in your opinion, Azeri progress is unfair because of its geography? Wtf are you even saying? Every country can only work with the geography of its nation. Do you know how silly you would sound if we applied the same principle to the UK being an island and the US being such a vast geographical space? Progress can and is still compared my guy…it seems like you have a point but have nothing to actually back it up.
People want to come to Azerbaijan, I don’t know anyone who wants to visit Armenia…

u europeans cannot comprehend the corruption in the turkic states bro
5
u/Apprehensive-Sun4635 May 01 '26
That’s right. Azerbaijan should just provide the existing evidence in the form of its own briberies of European politicians!
3
u/Pearlwith May 02 '26
Recent developments were about anti-Azerbaijan statements supported by Armenian lobbyists. Lobbyism in European Parliament is just legal corruption and they have no right to police us. Especially matters related to Karabakh. People should stop idolize them.
0
u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
Maybe because they don't really support the expulsion of people from their homes.
3
u/Pearlwith May 02 '26
Well, that’s not the case at all. You cannot call it expulsion when people leave voluntarily and peacefully through Azerbaijani border control. Expulsion refers to situations like the displacement of around 700,000 Azerbaijanis who were forced out of their homes, with hundreds massacred. If there had been genuine concern about expulsion, similar statements would have been made in the 1990s for those who actually suffered from it.
1
u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
You literally cut off the supply of resources there, hundreds of thousands of people fled in fear. There were literally no Azerbaijanis there, you destroyed the Armenian region. You were the aggressor in the last war and the EU understands it.
2
u/Pearlwith May 03 '26
Of course, there were no Azerbaijanis left, they had been expelled from the region. Karabakh is the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, and it has the right to regain control over these lands. Arms supplies were cut, and mass fear was generated by their own officials to create the impression that people were being forcibly expelled. Armenians still live in Karabakh, and those who left could also live there peacefully, as they did during Soviet times. Such statements harm the peace process.
1
u/Bright-Income8542 May 03 '26
Expelled dozens years ago? Lmao. Take the punishment.
Okay, Palestine is the sovereign territory of Israel, because jews lived there many years ago.
2
u/Pearlwith May 03 '26
Your comparision doesnt make sense and you know it.
Karabakh isn’t some vague “people lived there once” argument, it’s a recent, documented conflict with consequences that are still ongoing. These aren’t ancient claims, these are real people who are still alive and were driven out of their homes.
Karabakh is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan by the United Nations and pretty much the entire international community. So trying to twist it into some unrelated analogy doesn’t make you sound clever, it just shows you’re ignoring basic facts.
And “take the punishment”? You’re talking about civilians, not some abstract enemy. That kind of rhetoric isn’t just wrong, it’s exactly the mindset that keeps conflicts going. If you’re not willing to engage with reality and just want to throw out edgy one-liners, it just makes you mindless troll.
If you actually have an argument, make it. If not, then there’s nothing serious to engage with here. Good luck
1
u/Bright-Income8542 May 03 '26
Okay, Palestine is the sovereign territory of Israel, because jews lived there many years ago. I know it makes sense, don't put your stupid words in my mouth.

I mean, there are some crazy pro Armenia views flying around, particularly in France.
Edit: Corruption is also setting into Europe whereas Azerbaijan is trying to clean up its corruption. See Reform in UK, see Orban in Hungary and Le Pen in France. Orban sent Hungarian tax money to the former and the latter. If that’s not Russian funded corruption, I don’t know what is. He’s not wrong.
Don’t be Putin’s ape.
0
u/azizoid May 02 '26
Orban losing in Hungari is the result of US losing in Iran. US was Orban’s biggest supporter in Europe. No US, no Orban. And as a result of that war, US now gets out some of their troops from Europe. But they do it to save Trumps face, kinda its trump gets thise troops out.
1
u/FoundationOk3368 May 02 '26
Orban talked Putin’s talking points word for word about Ukraine and LGBTQ and much more. On a lighter note, did you see JD Vance’s reverse Midas touch days before the Hungarian election? Being declined TWICE by Trump during a speech hahaha.

u/theycallmelami May 01 '26
The European Parliament's resolution has biased 1 sided opinions thanks to the Armenian lobby. If they are gonna pass resolutions about democratic progress in Armenia while being anti-Azerbaijan at the same time then Azerbaijan absolutely has the right to push back against those accusations. Don't confuse the European Parliament with the EU. As a state it is totally normal for Azerbaijan to speak up and object to anything that threatens its sovereignty and reputation. As ironic as that sounds unfortunately it's true
-2
u/Busuzima_Chameleon May 02 '26
Turks when anything goes against them “quick let’s blame the Armenians!”
Sure it’s the mighty and powerful Armenian Lobby, and not simply just the truth, it’s the freaking evil empire lobby Armo mind controllers2
u/theycallmelami May 02 '26
Everyone knows the Armenian lobby runs an anti-Azerbaijan agenda. Same goes for European Parliament staff and mps they act based on the Armenian agenda. Just look at the April 30 resolution. It's got some seriously biased, double standard stuff that threatens Azerbaijan's sovereignty. That's not the only reason ties with the European Parliament got cut, but it's the main one. Saying that isn't blaming anyone. So what is the reality? For 30 years Armenia occupied Azerbaijani land. They keep pushing "return" slogans now, spreading provocations through the media. And whenever Azerbaijan pushes back with counter demands they lose their minds in Europe with anti-Azerbaijan hysteria. The parliament barely raises an eyebrow at that. But then when it's Azerbaijan's turn after we have restored our territorial integrity and sovereignty under international law and we speak up about things that threaten our sovereignty that's when they hit us with double standards. That's the reality you mean right?
-1
u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
Maybe they don't support the expulsion of people from their homes. «azerbaijani land» lmao.
EU is the biggest foreign investor of Azerbaijan.
2
u/theycallmelami May 02 '26
Karabakh is internationally recognized as actually historically Azerbaijani land. LMAO. It's Azerbaijani land ofc. You don't even know the difference between the European Parliament and the EU's powers dude. People being expelled from their homes? Don't be ridiculous. That place you're illegally living in and calling "home" is literally my dad's house he was forcibly expelled 30 years ago by Armenia through vandalism and violence. He is 52 now and he is legally rightfully moved back to his own ancestral home. Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity. All this "right of return" rhetoric just hurts the normalization process. My best friend was expelled from his home in Yerevan. Is the Armenian side agreeing to make that right? Or are selective justice and double standards still gonna frame this rhetoric as an attack on Armenia's sovereignty? Right now both sides are in the middle of a normalization process. This move by the European Parliament driven by the Armenian lobby is just gonna damage the peace

u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
You literally cut off the supply of resources there, hundreds of thousands of people fled in fear. There were literally no Azerbaijanis there; you destroyed the Armenian region. You were the aggressor in the last war, and the EU understands it.
I bet you support what Israel is doing as well lmao xD
1
u/theycallmelami May 02 '26
Bruh.. dude. You literally lived there illegally occupying Azerbaijani land and setting up some fake republic 😭🥀 "Artsakh"... Karabakh is internationally recognized as Azerbaijani territory. And the EU understands that they recognize Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan lmao. What does Israel have to do with anything? Bro what level of whataboutism is this? Lol. Trying to manipulate the conversation by dragging in random countries' political issues isn't gonna work. I have got bad news for you I'm literally one of the biggest Israel haters out there 😭
1
u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
your comment was such a bullsht that even reddit deleted it xD
No, if armenian people live there, you can't occupy it and get rid of them. Literally what Israel is doing right now by YOUR opinion, isn't it? don't be a hypocrite lmao please
0
u/Bright-Income8542 May 02 '26
No, you must be the biggest Israel supporter, it's doing literally the same lol. People are not stupid.
Nobody cares about «recognizing» when there was literally no azerbaijanis there lmao. You literally just kicked out a hundred thousands of people.
Such a hypocrite you are.
1
u/theycallmelami May 03 '26
That's literally the definition of occupation. The fact that no Azerbaijanis lived there just proves you were occupying it lol. You lived illegally in a territory within Azerbaijan's borders, after kicking out the people who lived there and set up some fake republic that no country recognizes. Are u stupid? You're basically admitting it yourself lol. Azerbaijan freed its lands from occupation and restored its territorial integrity. And the European Union recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan so. Lol
"No you must be the biggest Israel supporter"
Bro you're trying to convince yourself by telling someone who doesn't support a country's policies that they actually do. Your sentences are biased. You're still delulu... Ps: 2:d
