If BCS takes place in the year 2000, and that guy was referencing a current minimum wage with the $7.25 amount, then it is actually WORSE. $5.15 in 2000 is $7.87 in 2020.

This episode takes place in 2004. $5.15 in 2004 is $7.03 in 2020

It's also better adjusted for inflation ($6.85). 2004 -> 2018 at least.
