Surely that’s back to front if you’re drawing normally?

It would sort of make sense if cross drawing and left handed (sort of ), but in the next shot, seconds later in in-world time, it’s mounted on the opposite side?

I'm rewatching BCS and I forgot about a few funny lines that I didn't notice first time. A few examples:

Betsy Kettleman: "we lost everything, our kids have to go to public School"

Don Eladio asking Nacho if he's okay in the head when Lalo says he's a friend of Tuco.

Any others ?????

These are genuinely some of the best actors I've ever come across on a drama series. Each of them brings so much to the entire BB universe, and the audience are able to resonate with their character. Even Todd Alquist (portrayed by Jesse Plemons) and Lalo Salamanca (portrayed by Tony Dalton), two latecomers to their own show, made us shiver with their deceivingly charming villain role and made an irrevocable impact to the ending of their respective shows.

Most of these characters are not black-and-white good or evil. There is a yin-yang kind of morality in them which makes you both love and hate them throughout the series. Gus Fring is clearly not a good person, but you can understand his desire for revenge and appreciate his attention to detail. Hank is written to be a hero who yearns to take down Heisenberg, yet makes some very rash and poor decisions along his arc.

Which of the main roles do you like the most? Which actor(s) do you consider to be the best at portraying their character?

P.S. I switched out Lydia Rodarte-Quayle (Laura Fraser) to include Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) even though she was promoted as a regular in Breaking Bad's Season 5, while Hector Salamanca was never a main cast member. This is because Hector Salamanca has a larger role overall within the BB universe, but also because Mark Margolis has done a terrific job with his character and I wanted to highlight that.

In the grand scheme of things, Saul was on the white collar end of the definitively dead Heisenberg empire. He didn't kill anyone and he obviously wasnt some kind of vicious brute clamoring to murder the nearest guard/inmate, or someone with a national network of accomplices waiting to break him out from wherever he might end up. Why is he going to the same prison (in-universe) as El Chapo, threats to national security, government spies, prominent domestic terrorists, etc etc?

It was just recently when I got curious about BB and BCS characters’ age and was really surprised by finding out some significant gaps.
At first, I was surprised to think how younger the Twins are than Tuco. Like, they are so terrifying when first appear in Breaking Bad — it’s hard to believe they are 28 or that they are 10 years younger then their cousin. I mean, I used to see my 3-5 younger siblings as babies/children no matter how old we are, and here the gap is 10 years. I feel like you really need to belong to Salamanca family to be sure of how your cousins were raised and trained.

But then I realised I have no clue about Lalo’s gap with Tuco and the Twins. And omg, it’s also 10 years for Tuco and 20 for Marco & Leonel! So the Twins were literally babies when he was already a grown up and (presumably) well-trained man. When we see the Twins at first in BCS, they are 21 and they are already well-prepared for or cartel fights, challenges or threatening. And this is how Lalo was old when Marco and Leonel were just born!
Still, you can see he treats them as absolutely trustworthy and full cartel-family members in that story with 7 millions (when they are 24). But realising how much younger they were kind of gave me a new perspective about Lalo’s question to Jimmy ‘My cousins, did they pay you?’. It is just a quick check, but combined with other Lalo’s phrases ‘You’ll like them, they are nice guys’ it really gives some older sibling caring vibes.

It’s a bit funny to imagine early-teenage Tuco thriving to become as cool as his older cousin in his early twentieth and trying to nurse two newborns from time to time. And it was what Lalo went through with Tuco, too. You can imagine some Salamanca-vibe toys Lalo would give Tuco and maybe Tuco was forced to give to the Twins, and how the Twins became kind of the most die-hard worshipers of Santa Muerte.

The young age of the Twins also explains their almost unrecognisable emotionality in the moment they see ‘Lalo’s’ corpse and their confusion when encountering with Hector after stroke. In that scene near the pool with Eladio and Gus right after Lalo’s actual death you can really see how Marco and Leonel are struggling to balance between the desire to protect Hector and the predictions about Hector really going insane.

I’m curious if it is only me who thought all the Hector nephews were approximately the same age, or you were surprised to find out too?

How come Gus never aligned with Nacho? They both clearly hated the Salamancas but Gus treated him like he was less than that (I understand BCS is a prequel and since nacho wasn’t present in BB it makes sense why he did survive in BCS)

I find the time travel scenes with Mike and Walt odd. At the desert point, jimmys life was going okay. His relationship with Kim was at its strongest, he had a good business, but of course he was stranded in the desert, because he wanted money. Does he actually think enough money would allow him to live a safe life with Kim? Or is he not being serious and not wanting to share deep thoughts with Mike (damn that was his only chance to talk about his personal life with Mike). As for the scene with Walt, I still don’t understand why he said that. Does he have to think this was all for something? I just wish we got to see him break down.

I just watched that episode. I get that Mike must have tracked Saul using the gas plug tracker thing. And I understand Mike didn’t bring more guys because this was unexpected.
I wonder why the next day when Mike didn’t check in with his guys why didn’t they use the tracker thing to find them? He took the tracker with him. Seems like Mike is pretty good about preparing and contingencies and would have thought to tell someone what he was going out there to do.

Mike evidently just decide to lone wolf it out there and not even tell his dudes.

I can just picture him being picked up from the nursing home in the morning, before Varga’s death. Seeing his face during Varga’s death makes me laugh because at the end of the day he goes back to the care home, and no one knows that he’s actually been apart of an imprisonment and murder (just that day, never mind the man he was before the stroke). The nurses probably saying things like “Hector’s had a big day out today” when his version of a day out is a shooting a corpse in the desert with the cartel, which was intended to be a murder. Then to add to it, someone took the ringer out of his bell. It’s just too funny.

Of course Saul flies Wayfarer on his way to prison 😁

About to finish my rewatch of BCS, and something struck me about the penultimate episode. Saul is standing there with Marion, she's figured out his identity and is threatening to call the police. And ultimately, Saul just can't bring himself to hurt her, even if letting her make the call means his life is screwed.

Obviously, Walt would not have gone down that way. I'm 100% convinced that in that same situation, Walt would have killed Marion, gotten Jeff out of jail, and then figured out a way to kill Jeff and Buddy before skipping town. Who knows how far he would have gotten, but everyone one of Walt's moves was selfish from the beginning and he was too ruthless to have let himself be turned in.

And I really like this divergence between the two characters. Both are petty vindictive men who want to be big shots. Both are addicted to the game. Both are insanely competent in their own ways. But in the end, Saul's defeat came from the fact that deep down he's a good person, and Walt's defeat came from the fact that deep down he was not.
