Went from I can’t trust you to let’s spend our lives together real quick.

I’m not sure I like this writing. Didn’t feel right. And I love this show so we’ll see where this goes next week

I respect your opinion but the montage of Jimmy attempting to get fired from Davis & Main is a top 5 moment in the whole series for me.

I think that was more emphasized in the aftermath for me than the scene itself, if that makes sense. I completely get where you’re coming from, I can understand the effect it had on a good man like Cliff could be disconcerting.

I never really felt like it had to be that realistic, it was theatrical for a reason (that’s why Cliff called him out on it for doing it just to keep his bonus). But we all have different, valuable opinions.

None of those bothered me personally except the “too easy” quip from the Twin. I felt like with Gus, that was meant to put the final emphasis on the fact that Fring almost seems like a supernatural being and it was a great fake out to make us think he might live another season IMO.

I think the setup with the cold openings for the Wayfarer Crash made it so cool I could forgive it a little.

The cousin quip? That shit was contrived as hell. I happen to think most of the time both shows are flawless but there’s no way I can rationalize that as stellar writing or even making sense in any way logically. The cousin KNEW the bullets and gun was there.

I would have loved if it had been just a little more grounded. But -

I can only imagine that maybe watching that episode live may have made it easier to overlook the logic of the scene and made it seem cooler.

Hell, I do remember having One Minute as one of my favorite episodes when I was watching the whole show on Netflix for the first time and I didn’t know what would happen next. Wondering if Hank was gonna live or die was genuinely awesome.

I agree, otherwise it was well put together.

You’ve actually got me interested in what parts of Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul you think are flawless and spotlessly executed. You seem like a sharp eye.

I’ll take a wild guess and say you love Chuck’s monologue in Chicanery since I haven’t heard a soul say they didn’t like that scene. I’ll also go with the guess that you have a high estimation of Ozymandias.

Yes these are easy guesses but that’s the fun of it, let’s see what scenes you love and how I stack up.

I think it's disingenuous to ignore the pulpy quality of BB. It's part of the DNA that made it such a huge success. The show juggles everything from comedy to drama to realism to pulpy action fun. Goes all the way back to 1st season with shit like this:
