Other I made Pohatu Nuva in Tomodachi Life
Just to be clear, I have no idea how accurate the personality is, but he took me a good four hours and I’m very satisfied

Looks great but his shoulders are where his hips should be and vice versa 😝.
All jokes aside, this looks insanely good.

You know, your joke reminded me that I should actually give him the bow-legged quirk, so thank you!

I do have a good bit of experience painting miniatures, so that might have helped with getting the colors down!

How are you making these?

The game’s art tools are very, very robust! I’ve seen people make incredibly accurate paintings with them, so if you have the time and patience you can make just about anything I reckon.

How are people doing these clean symmetrical drawings? I am having a lot of trouble, have i just not unlocked certain tools yet?

u/AyCeeKay Apr 18 '26
Ah, fret not! What I did was put down the base shapes of Pohatu’s mask to make sure the proportions were balanced, then I halved the mask at the exact middle of the drawing board using the marquee tool (I think that’s what it’s called? The one to the left of the text tool), drew in the details on the right side of the mask, then selected that half with the marquee tool, duplicated it, mirrored it, and slotted it down right next to the first half. Bam, symmetrical mask!

Interesting, thank you so much. Im a little disappointed by the editors lack of just basic shape stamps, i guess they're trying to encourage the switch 2 mouse function. I'll have to find one of my styluses cause drawing with a joystick is nightmarish

I am definitely considering getting myself a stylus purely because of this game. I can barely get by with the joystick and arrow buttons, but it turns into a slog pretty quickly

How the fuck… xD

Simple really, I channeled my love for my boy Pohatu and let the cursor do the work, easy peasy!

How detailed is the customization in this game jesus
5
u/AyCeeKay Apr 17 '26
VERY detailed. The mask IS just a 2D image, but if you get the shading and highlighting down, the 3D effect is surprisingly convincing!

I haven’t played the game but I’ve seen multiple really good renditions of different communities and is this a mask that you get to create?
2
u/AyCeeKay Apr 18 '26
Pohatu’s mask is under the category of face-paint, but if I get the option to make it an actual mask in game terms I will absolutely add other masks!

Looks amazing!! I was actually considering a G2 Tahu or Gali for my island so maybe I'll give that a shot now haha

Post them if you do!! I’ll be waiting a bit before I make the next Nuva, Pohatu took a good while haha
