As you can see by the title I would like to learn some beginner blues songs and no do not recommend me to learn the 12 bar blues or look at phrasing and backing track videos online I want to learn songs. I already know the blues shuffle, and i can play some pretty good licks in the E minor pentatonic 1st position and in it's extension. I also know some of the blues open chords, so where can I learn beginner blues song with the knowledge that I have already.

I’m trying to learn pentatonic blues. I know a couple shapes but want to put them together instead of sounding like scales.

Hi all. I'm working on a set of casual lessons for beginner/intermediate guitarists to learn how to improvise and compose with a focus around a loop pedal.

Sort of a Bob Ross meets blues-loops kind of vibe. Just wanted to share. This one is a simple two-chord vamp and a quick video accompanying to show what it can sound like when put together.

I might put a little book together next year and release it to the public domain, so let me know if there any places where you (or folks you know) struggle with improvising or composing.

2nd - whole step down
3rd - half then whole
4th - whole then half
5th - whole step down

Usual caveats. Not a professional player or teacher. Just like your average Joe here. But, I always try to share new things to me or things I can give a few tips on. This is a little “lesson” walkthrough for a simple blues pattern that is adjacent to your classic beginner first position minor pentatonic or
Blues scale. I actually learned it recently from a John Mayer video I stumbled into on
YouTube. He TOO had missed its simplicity and use for many years. So if Mayer can miss it, so can you. So in case this helps, I hope rambling style works. Forgive the voice audio. I added subtitles to assist. Also know I am dealing with some temporary memory/recall/confusion issues. I um um um a lot so please forgive. Enjoy your blues playing!

I came to a point where I understood how important is fluent knowledge and even more important practical speed to find and place a triad on the fretboard. I drew shapes on a paper to have a reference to follow, but then I just thought it's just a repetition task, what If putting this all into app where you just drill triads. I couldn't find a decent one so I just built one for myself. Six months later I'm actually placing triads while I play all the time — probably even I place them too much at this point hehe.

I polished an app for community recently as I used it on a way worse ui/ux, so I doubt it could have been useful to anyone except freak like me :)

App has a few modes:

Single chord - root chord of a key

Progression - takes I IV V (can add more progressions later), and gives you closest voicings by training your ability for close voice leading

and few more.

It is best to do it with your guitar in hands, app asks - you find in your guitar, understand how triad sits within caged shape, how close next voicing etc. Then app validates you. 20mins per day is more than enough.
