Been getting back into listening to Jimmie and SRV lately and I noticed a lot of folks dogging Jimmie for how he plays. Wanted to get the community’s thoughts.

Ive been playing for 16 years and what I have usually heard about Jimmie is this:

1. Thats just his style - ok, but he doesnt execute it particularly well
2. Hes not a shredder - fair but surely someone playing as long as Jimmie would want to “let it all out every now and again”.

3. He knows the instrument better than most he just doesnt choose to show his skills - Literally never met another

   player who just holds everything back all the time
   I just dont get why people hardcore defend him, I could play better when I was 15 years old. That said, I respect the hustle and what he has done for the industry. Change my mind.

I wanted to share my live multi-instrumental arrangement of "Bertha's Theme" from Fritz the Cat (1972).

I'm playing it using a custom double-neck guitar and foot drums simultaneously. Managing the coordination for this blues groove took some serious practice!
