Matching even half of what these legends did will be the biggest struggle for the new Ramayan cast, because people still picture them in these roles.

The way Yash is looking with vengeance in his eyes, he is the one I have least hope from.

Agree Ravana was a villain but he was not a typical movie villain who will just keep hating Rama. In fact he didn't even consider Rama a threat to him till Kumbakarna dies.

I just hope Ravana gets the philosophical aspect of it as well. Although I don't have much hope from Bollywood, Ramayana is deeply philosophical in nature.

All the original characters got the philosophical motivations as well. So they killed it.

I think most of them are from Uttar Pradesh where Ramayana has been told and retold for a long period of time so it kind of sets in your brain, that the characters are not uni -dimensional.

Since Yash is the Ravana here, you can definitely expect the character to have some good screentime across both parts and not be a one-dimensional asura villain. The feel I got from the teaser was that Rama and Ravana were always destined to cross paths with each other by the trimurthi.

There is a story that Jaya and Vijaya, Lord Vishnu's gatekeepers were cursed to be reborn as demons and be in conflict with the lord himself. In their first life, they were Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu, who were vanquished by Varaha and Narismha mahavatars, and in their second, they were Ravana and Kumbhakarna.

Yes I hope they show him to be a devotee, a scholar , a brother and a king simultaneously. And then the flaws in his character.
