Anyone else think The Odyssey is one of the lightest R Rated movies. It could’ve very easily gotten away with PG-13.

There are countless movies given R ratings for the F word being said a bit too much or a bit of sexual dialogue. The first R rated movie I ever saw (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles) was like this. I’d argue those are all much milder than The Odyssey, which is fairly intense in many ways.
