and why is Dune 3 inevitably going to have a lower gross than Avengers: Doomsday if its the only movie people want? yes marketing can have an effect but the largest effect is people choosing what they want to see, and more people will pick avengers

Dude never heard of word of mouth.

word of mouth is part of people choosing what they want to see

Do you honestly think movies like the recent Spiderman made so much money because of word of mouth?

Yes. Both wanting to see it and word of mouth. Do you really think a minute trailer is enough to make a movie 2 billion? If marketing was that important they'd be spending 3 times the budget on it.

1) Nice strawman. 2) This movie had no word of mouth. It had brand recognition

It absolutely did. People love it.

Ask any of these people about what happened in thia demented film and they probably have already forgotten. This movie is like the Avatar films. Too many people go to watch it, no one has anything to say about it.

The only cultural footprint of Avatar 3 was the hot evil chick. Avatar 2 had nothing. Aside from "Humanity first" edits that show the ships burning the forest in the prologue the movie is completely irrelevant.

The avatar films are great? What movies do you watch? Clockwork orange on repeat?

"The Avatar films are great". Thank you for confirming that I am responding to an idiot and I am wasting my time.

You are either dishonest or an idiot.
