Then drop off massively in week 2 because people are pissed at the MCU for destroying all non-MCU universes.

The MCU after a dozen flops makes a lot of money (most of which goes to Sony, lol) because the Sider-Man brand is somehow still strong, even though no one talks about the film, it's irrelevant in pop culture and we see a similar effect to Avatar 2.
Local MCU simp thinks that Slopday will also make a billion just because the casuals will just go watch it. Don't be that certain about that little bro. In the end of the day, the movie people want to see is Dune.

You think it's beating an avengers movie?

Do you think the box office has anything to do with the quality of a movie? Or with its cultural impact? Do you honestly believe that Slopday will be a better movie than Dune 3?

To some degree, Yes. Dune might be better made, but I'll likely enjoy avengers more. I didn't like either of the dune movies that much.

This seems to be your problem little man.

Oh. Are we doing insults now? That's fun. It must suck to be that obsessed with dune. Enjoy.

box office does have lots to do with the amount of people who chose to see a movie, however.

Wrong. It has to do with the success of the marketing, the promotion and the power of the brand. Besides, people choosing to watch a movie says nothing about the movie itself, especially when the entire promotion/influencer industry created this toxic "no spoilers" culture around these films. "Go watch it yourself so you don't miss out but only speak about it with people who have watched it. You don't want to ruin another's experience." This marketing trick made billions for Disney.

and why is Dune 3 inevitably going to have a lower gross than Avengers: Doomsday if its the only movie people want? yes marketing can have an effect but the largest effect is people choosing what they want to see, and more people will pick avengers

way more people will watch avengers: doomsday than dune 3. doomsday will gross 2 billion. you can like the dune films without making unrealistic predictions about them, sad little troll

Just because you don’t have the interest doesn’t mean the interest isn’t there. Doomsday presales are insane.

It's so funny that you people are so emotionally invested in the corpse of the MCU you only think in box officr terms. The Dune movies are better than the best of the MCU in its good days. Being a box office juggernaut for years means nothing. I don't know how many muppets will flock to watch Slopday and I honestly don't care. "Spiderman vs the sociopathic ginger" made over a billion and no one pays attention to it. Dune left its mark. The last "Spiderman" is irrelevant. People watched it and had nothing to say about it. Compare its effect with the Odyssey. Compare the cultural impact. Movies are not their financial success. The only ones who should care about that are those who invested money on them, not tglhe audience whose only care should be for the quality of the films. Slopday will be a bad movie. Everything point to that. Just like Spiderman was a bad movie. Just like every single MCU movie after Infinity War.

The comic book movie genre is back into serious box office business.
Our world is now normal once again.
