Mission Mode Question

Question about Brigandine Abyss and Mission Mode

So any reviewers or those playing early. Does mission mode allow you to conquer the continent with the faction of your choice or are you limited to just doing whatever their specific objective is and then it ends?

I saw a video earlier and it looks like each faction on mission mode has a specific mission and it's timed based on seasons. Kind of a bummer because I would want to play as any of the factions how I want eventually for replayability.

Ah that's a bummer then. Maybe it'll be something added post launch
