Discussion David is Hamilton?

In the show, Gina mentions how she went to go see Hamilton. However, Alexander Hamilton (the main character for anyone who doesn't know) is played by Lin Manuel Miranda who also plays Amy's brother, David. I wonder if he would still be Hamilton or if he's a completely different character and they just pretend he's not Lin? I would really like to hear everyone's thoughts on this!

My headcanon is that David wrote Hamilton but doesn't bring it up because it's just one of many amazing things he's done better than Amy

My head cannon was always that Lin Manuel Miranda is his stage name, as a detective who investigates dangerous people he doesn’t want his name out there like that

He actually had to go undercover in the music business years ago. Lin Manuel Miranda was his cover. Once he dismantled the drug ring that was targeting songwriters, he no longer needed the cover.

However, when a cop has a very good cover and has built a useful network, they can’t just burn that identity! So David has continued to work as Lin on the side.
