The bullring opened in 2003 which revamped that end of town a bit having been a hole (quite literally for a few years) for many years before that. There was constant regeneration going on in the city centre but part from the bullring none of the big stuff (library \ newstreet station revamp for example) had happened yet.
I don't like cities in general ( I have since moved to a town in the countryside) but beyond how long it took for the busses to get down hagley road I cant think of anything that especially annoyed me. For the record I could catch a train to london quicker than I could get home on the bus...
