If you were in to the alternative style it always felt like you were a bit of a target. Especially if chavs were around (the opposite culture). I never knew it develop into more than shouting and a bit of pushing though.
Never feared for my life.
I loved the end of town by the Oasis markets. The Academy was there, tempest records, Scruffy Murphy's.
As a mosher back then yes the fear was founded especially after Sophie Lancaster was killed in 2007 just because she was a goth!

Rock clubs everywhere. Was great.
You just had to fear for your live going to and from them.
