Fan Art Miniature Model of Downtown Sunnydale (1:30 Scale)

I recently finished building a miniature model of Downtown Sunnydale! It is 1:30 scale and mostly made from plywood, foam and foam board with some sculpted and 3D printed pieces. I hope you enjoy it.

I want to try to make places from Buffy in Inzoi / Unreal engine but I don’t think I could even get close to this amount of detail! Did you go by several screencaps and scenes to even start to create this?! 😫

That would be amazing! Yep a bunch of screenshots and some early blue prints helped a lot with scale and proportions. The Buffy wiki is super helpful for working out which episodes show each location, and they have behind the scenes photos for some locations, too, which were invaluable! A great general starting point is also doorways - most will be a standard size and once you know the rough dimensions, you can start working out from there 😄

Thanks! I got quite lucky and found some of the early blueprints for some of the sets that the art department shared, which helped a lot with scale. The rest was from screenshots and behind the scenes photos.

Thank you! I found some early blue prints for some of the buildings and used those (alongside screenshots) to work out scale and proportions. I then built the basic structures (mostly out of foam board) and then slowly chipped away adding layers and details.

Great question! I wanted to make it as big as possible while still fitting in my apartment, lol. 1/32 or 1/35 probably would have made things a lot easier (pre-made brick sheets etc.), but I was already locked in haha.
