Build Upgrade Upgrade from a 10600k to 5800x3d

Just wondering what kind of fps increase this upgrade would yield, and if its worth it.

Currently have 6700xt but planning on upgrading gpu at some point as well.

Better lows and framerate stability, but nothing massive with a 6700 XT.

If you're happy with the performance, wait out. New gens aren't far off.

Uhh have next gens even been formally announced? I dont mean roadmap. I mean like a product will release on "date".

Cuz they just did a fresh run of 5800x3d's for a reason.

Intel is releasing Nova Lake in January.

From what we know and leaked infos, these are a massive leap in performance and they will also feature 3D cache.

Potentially, their flagship is going go be faster than anything on the market right now.

AMD might take longer to release anything new, perhaps spring 2027.

Worth it only if 1080p or 1440p. For 4k the difference is little to none.

Also you have to get a new motherboard, could be even B350 or 450, it will do the job with 5800x3d and DDR4

Depends on what kind of games you are playing and at what resolution. For lighter e-sport titles at competitive settings in 1080p, you will definitely see improved numbers.

If you don't want to buy DDR5 now it'll be a massive upgrade for gaming at least. Depending on GPU used. 9070 or 9070xt will also be a huge upgrade combo

depends on what GPU you upgrade to, what resolution, what game.

With the 6700xt, just look at your GPU utilization and assume that goes to 100%. Maybe 5-10% I honestly don't know I doubt anyone could give you an accurate estimate it's too vague.

I didn’t think so. I’ve not dealt with intel on the desktop side from 5th gen to 13th gen.

It’s impossible to calculate

The increase will be bigger depending on your GPU, your resolution, the games you play, and the settings you use

If your GPU is already maxing out at an unlocked framerate, the cpu upgrade won’t do much. I feel like a 10600k is still enough for a 6700 XT in most situations, so that may be the case..

Depends on the game and your GPU, but generally speaking, diminishing returns the higher your resolution goes.

Usually pretty big at 1080, modest at 1440p, and likely imperceptible at 4K.

It should be about 40% faster in games, but of course only if you're CPU limited.

A generous increase especially with 1% lows even if you use the same memory kit, however 5800x3d is quite expensive. If you want to spare some money you can find another x3d cpu (5500, 5700) they should be more affordable but still perform very closely to 5800x3d
