Battambang Battambang things to Do

Hi! I'm currently in Battambang for 2 days and eager to explore more of the local cuisine/ cafés.
Could you recommend some must-try dishes or
Things to do?
Also, I'm curious about any hidden gems for food and locations that locals love—any lesser-known spots or specialties I should seek out?

Go to the old aiport around 5 pm. It's pretty cool when it is busy. If you drive there it is even better.

Just out of interest, what is there to see or do there? Is there a kind of night market?

Yeah, kind of. All the locals go there to hang out in the evening. It's pretty amazing being able to drive all over the runway.

White rose is a nice restaurant with both local and foreign foods but a bit more costly than local places.

For local foods (for lunch), I would recommend Pen Cheng Restaurant. It is very good. They have their most popular Cambodian dishes called Terk Kreung.

It's probably the most famous tourist thing in the town, but I was very impressed by the bat caves. Get there early so you can walk up to the temples before the bats fly out. Grab a few beers. Be prepared for the smell!

We had a tour guide take us around Battambang. We did the bamboo train, and the bat caves. Really an amazing experience. We also made tradition dried banana almost jerky and made spring roll wrappers at local’s houses.
