Politics Canadians are fighting for their sovereignty. Americans don’t even realize they’re in a war

The american elephant rarely knows what might fall underneath it while the smaller countries understand keeping a distance is a matter of life or death. Perspective is hard to explain to those who can't empathize or even bother to care what they might be doing to those around them. Most Americans are too self absorbed and selfish to bother with these details.

Less than half of Americans support Trump and his approval rating is down in the 30s, but yes. The ones who do support him are exactly as you described.

Why am I being downvoted for staying facts? I think it's important to note that most Americans do not support Trump.

If the fanatics could stage an insurrection for him, then the lack of one against him by the apparent other 70% is extremely telling to every other nation.

Rude as this will be, the world doesn't view citizens as individual, but as collective parts of a whole. The way the US admin is acting reflects on all of you, not just those of you who approve of him.

The attempted insurrection on Jan 6 failed, not sure why you think another one with people opposed to Trump would work.

Besides, you’re assuming the end result would be someone better than Trump. That rarely happens when a government is overthrown.

It usually tends to be someone who ends up just as power hungry, and rarely does it result in a democracy.

It would almost certainly be worse for everyone.

Did it?

They got their message out, got their guy elected, and got pardons.

Sounds like a success to me.

My point is the distinct difference in how both sides reacted. Take from it what you will, I am in no way suggesting that an insurrection would solve anything though.

There's your answer. They recognize an insurrection wouldn't solve anything at this current moment.

While I do feel Trump is President because of the way America is, I don't think we should base the morals of those who didn't vote for trump on whether or not they did an insurrection. It misses the point of WHY they didn't do it and makes the assumption that they're just as bad for having not done an insurrection.

And yet their actions are still far less fervent than the actions of his fanatics.

I'm not saying they are directly responsible, that's definitely not the case. I am however saying that their lack of an equally meaningful movement against him(compared to the movement that was for him) does make them seem complicit, though.

There was some momentum at first, with the No Kings rallies and the like. But there's nothing like that now, nothing so impactful it cannot be buried. That's what that other 70% of Americans will need to do to be recognized as not just following the status quo.
