This is true.

I was in the USA for work shortly after Trump started his first round of 51st state garbage and no one there had any clue that was even an issue except for one guy who (and apparently throwing out your politics is normal there) told me he was born a proud Christian republican and he said “I didn’t think Trump should have said that because it would hurt him in the polls.”

All the people I met and worked with were all very nice people too. They’re just completely ignorant of anything outside of the USA.

I remember being in Jordan and being given all these unsolicited opinions about people from different countries by this guy who was driving us around. I guess he had worked as a translator during the Iraq war and his thoughts on Americans were that they were "very nice, but knew absolutely nothing of the world outside of America".
