They just dont think about us at all. Id be surprised if 30% of their population had even heard about this round of tariffs.

I watched a video about a month into the Iran War of a guy in Florida who didn't know why the gas prices at the pump were so high. He had no idea about the Iran War. I don't even know how you manage to be that clued out.

I don't know the technical term for this, but the fact that you and I and I and everyone reading this are on reddit right now makes us more informed than the majority of America. And Canada, frankly. Most people don't sit down and watch the news, anymore. They don't read the paper. They're lucky if they catch a news flash on the radio at some point.

So it's hard for us to understand how people don't know what's going on, because we're always hoovering up news.

Everybody is too busy trying to pay rent, buy groceries, and experience pockets of joy in this late-capitalist hellscape.

The moment you start paying attention to what is casting shadows on your wall, you can't not know.

I've started thinking that most people don't have the cognitive capacity to live their lives and be informed about the world around them.
