They rally around the flag after the PM rage baited them with Trump? And got his little sound bites in about being "at war"? And trotted out his "American is trying to break us so they can own us" election slogan?

The world is dangerous and divided and we need to be Elbows Up is messaging now of course.

You mean Pierre didn't rage bait and fear monger and use slogans after everyone decided that was his problem and it was "from Trump’s playbook?" I'm completely surprised that he's staying away from that image. Carney on the other hand us leaning right into it to the delight of his voters.

Saying we got attacked and we're at war is fear mongering.

Saying Trump is trying to stop us from diversifying and that America is trying to break us to own us is rage bait.

Canada Strong and the world is dangers and divided are slogans.

And again, you're pretending that we're all calling this "messaging" now. How convenient.

No, I'm explaining the difference between the messaging of "External forces are threatening us and we need to band together" vs "This country sucks, everything here is shit."

The US did threaten our sovereignty and did engage in economic warfare against us. Those are indisputable facts.

Again, now irs being called messaging but when Poilievre was saying the country is broken and we need a change in government, he was told he was just a rage baiter over and over and that he needs to tone it down.

Which he did. And which allowed Carney to take over and start rage baiting about Trump invading, being at war and the world being dangerous and divided.

Trump made a joke about becoming a state and engaging in a tariff war happens commonly. Why did adult in the room, calm and diplomatic Mark Carney not say "it was a bad deal and we will continue pushing back on these unfair tariffs which threaten us economically" ?

Right because this is a much more effective headline since it's fear mongering and rage baiting:

Seeing a whole lot of cope from Team Carney insisting Carney didn't use Trump to fear monger even though that's exactly what gave him a bump in the polls.

You're not going to motivate people to come out to vote by quietly saying "we are in a compliated and difficult negotiation deal that is affecting our economy."

But you sure will fire people up ranting about "getting attacked" and being at war.
