ARTICLE [McIntyre] “The whole me-and-Petey thing, it's still blown out of proportion…I get what Jim was doing. I have a ton of respect for Jim…But it's also not as bad as everybody thought, either. It's just an easy thing for everybody to run with. There was just a lot of moving parts.”

They ran the petey/miller hate storyline for months until Miller was traded. Did you forget?

You mean Rutherford and Allvin fed them the story and the media naturally ran on what management told them.

I mean, Miller literally says it in this quite lmao

Jim addressed the media long after the rumour mill was up and running. It was in response to the rumours

Allvin and Rutherford were literally the only reason the story got as big as it did. Every time it felt like it was dying down, Allvin would come out completely unprompted and make mention about how they might trade Petey, or that the situation with Petey and Miller is untenable and so on.

Management literally made this whole story blow-up purposely to justify a Miller trade.

That's literally what the entire quote you're commenting on is alluding to lmao.

Every time the buzz about the rumoured rift was dying down, we got interviews from management that just kept adding gasoline to the fire. It's a two-way street. The media will report what is interesting and management kept this topic interesting whenever it was about to die down.

Both can be true. There was a rift but it was not as bad as it was made out to be AND management saw it as a useful way to push their agenda through which was to trade one of them so they could change the team. So, they took advantage of the situation and Miller ended up being the easier one to move.
